cheese tasting plater is good value priced at $10, i found that pleasently fair pricing. Goats milk is best ive tasted. Cheeses were good, nothing outstanding, but overall nice afternoon/venue
If you are coming to the Mornington Peninsula, be certain to stop off in Mornington. Main Street is a lovely place for a stroll. There are many coffee shops, cafes and clothing boutiques to peruse. Stop and have a coffee or some lunch. Stroll down to the Mornington Pier at the end of Main Street (although it is partly closed for reconstruction) and have a walk along the beach. There is a small lookout with views to Melbourne on a clear day. There is also a beautiful park with a statue of Matthew Flinders. On Wednesday mornings, there is a fabulous market (in Main Street) with produce, craft, food, jewellery and clothing. It is the longest running street market in Victoria. This is my hometown! Take Peninsula Link (no toll highway) and exit at Mornington-Tyabb Road.
I never really like goat's cheese but this dairy's cheeses are very nice. We visited as part of a MP Experience tour, and got to try about 10 different cheeses. We also got to see the "girls" being milked. They are very content and obviously well treated.
I'm thinking as I walk down the path of pebbles at Main Ridge dairy, " Is this going to be a dud in the tin shed that I'm walking into?" The "shed" is pleasantly full and the atmosphere is country lay back, I like it!We order our drinks and a $35 platter for the four of us. Now I must confess a partiality to goats cheese, this cheese is out of this stratosphere! It's promised land cheese! We had 5 samples and I found it difficult to separate which I liked best, they were all "delish". We just found this little innocuous place high up in the Penisular delivered. You have gotta go if you are a cheese lover and by the way we found the cheeses for sale were reasonably priced .
Great variety of cheese and all really tasty too - we got the tasting plate for $10 to share between 2; there were 10 types of cheese (enough for 2 people) and plenty of crackers. There is also some lovely kitchenware available for sale, and of course cheese. Definitely worth a visit - I would recommend morning tea or afternoon tea, as the tasting plate is a good snack size.
A lovely setup In a picturesque surround. Beautiful tasting produce & ever so kind service. A must visit for people of all ages.
My childern love coming here not only for the yummy Chesse but the love feeding the goats on the farm. The cheeses are fantastic we love them
Great cheese tasting experience on a lovely property. Especially love the goats curd which is great for salads.
We called in spontaneously and realised it produced Goats cheese and nearly got back in the car as we didn't think we liked Goats cheese. The lady that served us was so lovely and helpful - how wrong we were!! We LOVE Goats cheese! The marinated Feta was the best I have tasted. We will be back!
fantastic place, delicious cheeses (get a tasting plate) and friendly goats that love a pat. staff were a little cold but it was early on a sunday morning so i'll let it slide ;)
