Admission prices were super cheap, good crowd, very family friendly, and we had no problem bringing out service dog in!
We have attend a large number of state fairs across the country and ND State Fair ranks at the very top. We exhibit sheep at fairs and it is great to have nice facilities and accommodating staff to work with.
I have visited the North Dakota State Fair Center for a number of events and enjoyed every single one. Mostly I come for the concerts during Norsk Hostfest. The facilities are very clean for the volume of people who attend each function. The people are very helpful and friendly and accessible for any help or questions you have.If I could have them change one thing, it would be how close the seating is during the concerts. If they could remove just one single chair in each row, and space the seats accordingly, we would be so much more comfortable. As it is set up, we are practically sitting on the people beside us and it is decidedly uncomfortable. This one thing has prevented us from attending other concerts, if we are unable to get end row seats Very claustrophobic.
This was one of my stops during a cross-country road trip and also my first time attending a state fair. The grounds were spacious and parking was ample. The fair itself had tons of rides and the food trucks, which included regional fare, were plentiful. It was a great opportunity to interact with the locals. I had a great time.
What an experience! Josh Turner belted them out. The halls were full of cultural delights, knick-knacks to stuff any stocking, and plenty of entertainment. We took pictures with the Trolls (one of whom got frisky with me). We ate regional and cultural delights. Overall a very well organized event in a great facility. We will be back!
While it seems like parking is miles away from the attractions, once you're in the hum of the State Fair, rodeo, or other attractions, the frustration melts away. The fairgrounds had undergone massive improvements over the past decade, only to have a major setback during the massive Minot flooding in the summer of 2011. Like other Minot attractions, the fairgrounds are clawing their way back to pre-flood glory.
The Zoo was excellent! Really enjoyed the walk-about on a really nice September afternoon.Staff were friendly and helpful.A good value for a family!
The North Dakota State Fair Center is a good place for big events like the North Dakota State Fair and Hostfest. Bathrooms are clean, a variety of vendors sell food, and the entertainment is very good--often national class.
My husband and I go on the free day. He was in the military so we get in free. Its usually on Saturday. It is very high priced for one ticket. An average family can't afford to go. For the past few years the attendance has been down because it was more for the 60+ age group. But I have noticed that the entertainment has gotten a little bit better, so maybe there will be more of the younger people showing up. The food is ok, a little spendy, and some of the product that are for sale is also pricey.
Good parking, dining venues are very clean and good service.Friendly, helpful and a feeling of being safe.
