very traditional French, tacked away in a tiny gulf. It is like a fisherman's village within Marseille. Very cute
A typical little port where you don't expect one. Great restaurants, some very expensive some vrey affordable. Fantastic view. Difficult to park... My favorite. ...
You take steps down to this little port off the JFKennedy Corniche. It is just what it is, a small community and there is a restaurant there. Very picturesque and un-chic.

That a place that must be seen! Amazing atmosphere and view. Small restaurants and lovely houses with paintings and mosaics
Walk La Corniche, you will find stairs opposite to the Orient monument, go down and you will feel you are in a small fishing town. Restaurants are always jammed, especially Chez Fonfon, so make a reservation or have a drink and wait.
Nearby the old harbour of Marseille lays the small harbour of Vallon des Auffes. Nice surrounding wher you may think not to be in a big town but in a small village where you can taste good seafood!
Visited today for a little look around. Easy to get to. The easiest way was to walk down the steps opposite the monument on the main road. We walked past the boats and restaurants and then came to a sweet little swimming area. Really shallow and our toddler playing in the water loads of other kids. A lovely experience that is well worth a look around.
Cool to be there in the morning when the boats come in with their catch. Cool to be there at night when the string lights turn on and create a magical little world. Several great restaurants there, including the legendary Chez FonFon.
We were shown around by one of the residents in his boat. When younger, he claimed to have jumped off the central span of the arches over the inlet, into about 2.5m of water - an act of some daring. A very good choice of restaurants.
