took my granddaughter there on Sat night to see Turbo. Quality of sound was excellent but picture was kinda dark and hard to make out sometimes. I know this is an old theatre and they are working to improve picture and sound, going digital in the future. Popcorn was a great price at only $6 for a large. Sure would go back, esp when they go digital.
who dosnt love to go with the kids to go see a movie out side for cheeper the inside and enjoy family time go try it
I was here every weekend in high school. Such a cool place!! So reasonable and pretty neat to be able to watch two movies from the comfort of your own car. The classic commercials make the experience very special. Don't forget to beep when the hot dog jumps in the bun!
Relive a relic from the 1950's--one the few outdoor theatres left in our country. Set up your lawn chairs, put the little ones to sleep in the back seat of your car, relax and enjoy the show in the open air. I relive working there as a teen age ticket-taker in the early 50's and later, parking our Volkswagen camper van, popping popcorn on the stove, having pop in the ice box and enjoying the show w/ our 3 young children who could sleep while we watched the show.
Great atmosphere, terrific selections of movies, delicious popcorn and full concession stand. A great place to take the family for outdoor movies from May to October, we even bring our dog! The owner is wonderful to his patrons and the staff there are so friendly and courteous. We look forward to this every year!
Drive in movies existed for a reason. They are great fun, and this one is no different!1. A double feature for less than the cost of a movie theater.2. Bring your own food and drinks...save a lot of $$3. Hang out with lots of friends, and feel free to talk during the movie if you need.4.Parents and kids alike can enjoy the shows, be outdoors, and have a good classic time!
Who doesn't love going to the drive in. Took my niece nephew and sister to see Rocky Horror Picture Show for their first time. No one loved it more than me! I wish there were more drive-ins
Drive ins are struggling and it is great to see this one is still around. They don't always have the latest movies, but they still have the standard food and dark locations to sit with ones friend And it is still a good place to take a family, .
There are too few Out door theaters in exsistance any more The Mchenry is a great place for all ages . The kids can play in the playground area while the parents can set up dinner brought from home and even tip a beer or two if they want . Those that want to have that special moment they can park in the back and enjoy their selves . Or if you want to just kick back and watch a good movie you can even do that . The prices are about like the indoor theaters except the seniors and students git half priced admision the snack bar has a varity of candies pop corn and other hot foods and Ice creams . Thanks for hanging around and Good Luck to the New Owners
I love going to these old outdoors, I'm always sad when there is talk of closing it!Although the food leaves a lot to be desired, the nostalgia makes it worth the while!
