This tourist attraction is perfect for family since they have alot of animals like birds, horses and other animals which is very tamed. We had a picture with one of the snakes as well. This is very educational to children. We went their since its part of our tour package which we booked with Smartway Travel and Tour Services Cebu. Their services is above and beyond excellent.
One thing that I like about Baluarte is that guest can come in for free.. There are only few species of animals but hey, it's for free so I can't complain. It has a huge ground where animals can wander around. There's even an animal show where the guest can watch. But I my interest was captured by those giant Dinosaurs.. hhahaha.. approve!
We visited the Baluarte Zoo. Owned by Gov. Chavit Singson. It’s a perfect place for the family especially for animal lovers, and we really had fun.The place was really nice. Fitted for adventurous people like us.Ilocos Sur, Philippines!Best place to travel!
not much to see... but a few animals...i think the highlight would be those few animals which are uncommongood place for picnic or bringing the kids..esp the free ride on those little horses or is it a donkey...not so sure...
This is maybe the only fun activity to do in Vigan. You can ride the miniature horse drawn carriages and see some animals.
the place looks nice. its more of a petting zoo. its very hot there. so, wear thin clothes and bring extra for change! don't forget to bring deodorant!
It's a mini zoo owned by Chavit Singson. It is where he keeps his pet tigers before he opened the place for public viewing. Entrance is free but they collect a minimal fee if you'd like to see and take a photo together with some of the tigers. You can also ride the mini pony around the designated place inside the zoo. The animals are quite interesting (such as the alpaca) and foods are readily available if you'd like a refreshing drink. It is just one tricycle ride from Vigan so it is quite easy to find. My favorite is the butterfly garden where you'll get a close encounter with different butterfly species and learn more about them. They also have a scheduled animal show for the kids and kids at heart.
There is plenty to see and do and its all free (no entrance fee that is). The zoo is always expanding. Prices for gifts are very reasonable. The shows are informative and often humorous. Don't forget to get a picture of Tom, the friendly tiger.
Some of the animals look not well-maintained. The rams were able to get out of their enclosed quarters and we saw them going through the garbage for food.No entrance fee was charged.
Its just like a place for picnic and have the kids see the animals. A place to unwind after a long day. But, I salute Gov. Chavit for sharing it to the public without paying anything.
