I attended Boomers for my grandson's 6th birthday. Although the children had fun the adults were cumbered about with the things that cost money. Firstly the buuilding was cold and some of the children had to keep their coats on if they werent in full swing running around. As the food was served, it came out cold and some of which looked old and stale, like the cheese on the burgers were turned up.. Most of the food was returned, as my son and daughter in law spoke with the supposed manager who kept saying he wasnt the manager. so around and around the conversations went to resolve the matter of the disgustingly served cold and stale food to which the manager suggested 150 free coins. finally it was somewhat solved to accepting the coins, and getting a refund on some food. Only to find out that they had very little to choice from in the ticket trade in toy department. We had over 17000 tickets. Awful service and disinterested servers accept for the young man that manned the merry go round and Victor. Both managers had terrible attitides. My suggestion is to get someone who generally cares that the customer should be cared to since they pay for your services, boomers should repair some of the machines if you want continued services and get a better person to man the microwave!
this is a bit run down and small. However if you are local and looking for something to do and you can get a POP option then its worth a trip or two. It needs updating and the rides are really only for young kids. The go carts are ok.I would recommend this for young children, teens would be bored.
Great place to take the kids either for the day or for a birthday party. My kids always have a fun time every time they are there. They love playing the arcade machines and going on the rides especially the go carts. Boomers is an easy place to travel to. The parking is free which is good and the staff is friendly.
I visited this place a few times with my small kids. Seems like a good idea - a park targeted to smaller children. The place is severely in need of a major overhaul but I guess they make no money tucked away in Medford. The rides outside are rarely all open, the coaster keeps closing because it costs too much to repair, the food is just awful and takes forever to get anyone to help you. The bathrooms smell worse than the NY Penn Station Bathrooms. I kid you not they reek 15 ft from the entrance. Half the ticket machines inside are inoperable or don't give tickets. The floors are disgustingly filthy they don't even sweep them after they close. The mini golf looks like it closed 15 years ago. And somehow they charge 25 bucks for a POP bracelet for those broken down 5-6 outdoor rides? Take your kids to Adventureland instead if they are 48". Until someone else buys this dump and invests 1M into it don't waste your time or your money going here. Such a shame though it could be a nice park for families with kids up to 6 yrs old.
We Just had our 4 Yr old twins birthday party there. Although the boys had a great time, this place needs major work !!!!!!! These poor young boys/girls that work there are completely overworked. One guy had to work 3 rides outside so you had to wait until he got back to go on a ride. I have no idea where the ownership/management is and I totally felt bad for the poor girl in charge of our boys party because she was so nice and tried really hard, but almost 2 hrs to get the food out and the cake cut and brought back out to the kids is unacceptable. I could go on about rides closed and waiting 30 min to get batting cage tokens, but I wont. All I can say is this place could be great for kids under 12 if they got their act together. Without a change, I can't see this place staying open too much longer.
This park is advertised as family fun. Maybe for the Adams family. This place is a real rip off and a dump. The cost is steep and there are very little advantages. The park is grossly understaffed and I believe unsafe. At times a teenaged attendant was running and supervising 2 rides at a time. That is the rides that were working. Many of the rides are targeted for the under 10 crowd with the exception of the go karts and water bumper boats. The miniature golf course was adequate but was near water with poor fencing so most of the golf balls were lost in the water. There is very little seating or shade for parents or other people waiting or watching. Don't expect any relief inside the arcade. I was there on a 80 degree day and there was minimal air conditioning on if at all. Most of the machines were out of order. The ones that did work had no tickets and you had to search down an attendant to get help. All that for a few prizes that you could buy bulk at the dollar store. Plus they broke on the car trip home. Save your time and money. Try adventureland or splish splash instead.
I recently went to boomers. The machines are really fun but it eats up your tokens sometimes. You can always get it back if you talk to someone. The employees were really kind and warm. The rides outside is very fun. I love the go kart and the boat bumper. This place is more toward the kids and adolescent group. It could be fun for adults. Its up to you to make it fun. Overall I would go again. I trully enjoyed it. Its basically another version of chuck e cheese but with more options. I love it boomers
I visited Boomers in Medford this past Saturday and it was terrible. The park was completely filthy. They were completely understaffed both inside and outside. Inside they had 3 girls working who were doing everything, taking food orders, getting people prices when they redeemed tickets etc, getting food out from the kitchen. These poor girls were completely overworked and stressed. Outside there were only 6 employees to operate the rides, bumper boats, go karts. Many of the rides were closed since there was not enough staff there to operate the rides. The staff at the go karts were rude to everyone and honestly deserved to be punched in the mouth on how they were talking to us the customers. The water near the Mini Golf was smelly and dirty. There were no golf clubs or golf balls to play mini golf. The ticket booths outside were both closed as well. I guess Boomers only cares about making money and not about their customers or staff. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.
nice local place for arcade, nice games, friendly employees, nice atmosphere, some older games like pac man and centerpede :)
Almost one star, but my 2 1/2 year old daughter absolutely loved it. First, go on a Tuesday or Thursday for $12 pay one price rides. Don't make my mistake and buy one for the adults too, there's nothing you can go on and the kiddie rides are just fine for the kids to go on themselves. Now the major criticisms. Lots of broken-down rides, barely get your money's worth. Lots of broken arcade games. Machines steal your money and you need to hunt people down to address the issue. COMPLETELY understaffed. Ride attendants are responsible for 2-3 rides and need to see you waiting by a ride to come over and serve you, but only after their current ride ends. Place is acceptable for a 2-5 year old. Older kids might want to skip everything and pay just for gokarts or mini golf. I recommend if you visit to do it around 3pm when the camps are leaving. If you kick a few stuck machines, tons of credits will enter the game or tons of coins will come out of the return. The camp kids don't pay for tokens and when one gets stuck they don't bother to have it addressed (which is a real pain in the neck in this place). So, if you give it a love tap, you can experience the benefits. Staff too busy addressing other things for a guest to even consider ordering food.
