Cheese is very good. Guggisberg has been around since I was a kid. (So it's old) Very busy on weekends and in the fall. Better off going on a week day if you can. If you have never visited it is worth trip as is the rest of the area. Many fun places to stop.
If you are a cheese lover make sure if you are in the area you stop here. Plenty of free samples to help you make a good choice. The people who work there are very nice and helpful. Cute place and great tasting cheese!
We went here specifically to pick up some baby swiss. The have a few samples to try and we also ended up getting the amish butter cheese. If you are a cheese lover then it is worth coming here for the swiss. Across the road is Chalet in the Valley if you want lunch or dinner.
We went on the second week on October and you had to squeeze past people sideways. Don't go at that time.
They have some samples, but not alot. Prices were normal. I just though this is a normal average cheese shop with some gifts and a tour of the factory.
Outstanding selection , lactose free which is great as I am intolerant !! Pleasant shopping experience
We could see cheese being made and enjoy samples. They also had sweet treats. We really enjoyed our time and bought several types of cheese.
This is a fun place to stop at if you are in the area. You can get in and out quickly if you are in a hurry or stop and savor and enjoy. A large glass window allows you to see into the factory to see the process. Kind of hard to know what is going on, nonetheless cool to see.Lots of samples are near all the varieties and I think the sharp baby Swiss is different and good. Other varieties of cheese besides Swiss too. Also, candy and other gourmet foods. Great prices. Nice things to put in a gift basket.Enjoyed the stop and will be back.
As I visited the Akron area, I had a great time at the Guggisberg Cheese Factory! This is a store, but it has much more! The surroundings are gorgeous fields, with areas to see fountains, statuettes, trees, and parklands. There is plenty of free parking. A good restaurant is across the street! This store has homemade cheeses, candies (ah--fudge!), gifts, books about the Amish and other relevant subjects, and useful kitchen items. You can spend from a few minutes to hours, here, having a good time. The employees are friendly and helpful. Even the customers are exceptionally nice! I'll never forget this delightful attraction in the countryside of Ohio!
What a great place. The employees were so nice.. Prices are good.. You can taste anything you want before buying and you can watch them make cheese.. What fun!
