My wife and I were touring the SC/NC foothills and made our way to Parker-Binns. This vineyard is run by a fantastic couple (assisted by their dog Lulu), and we had a great time trying their wines and talking to them and other couples who had stopped in. All of the wines were very good, but our favorite was Loco Lulu. This vineyard is located in a developing wine area, is only a few minutes from I-26, and is well worth the trip.
My friend and I took a weekend away from husbands and kids and visited Lake Lure. Our cabin host Kerri highly recommended we go to Parker-Binns and we could not thank her more. That made our trip. Not only is the wine AMAZING; but the owners are just delightful. The tasting is an experience and one that every wine connoisseur should take part in. Their selection is pleasing for every pallet. The vineyard is enchanting. You must see this place. The blackberry wine will blow your mind!
We had so much fun at Parker-Binns! The owners are wonderful, welcoming and so much fun to talk to. Our sons had a great time with their dog, Lulu and the views can't be beat. Their wine is wonderful and crafted from the heart. Try the Blackberry it is SO good!
We visited the Parker-Binns Vineyard as part of a wine tour. The owners are just wonderful. Both are so welcoming and interesting. They opened the vineyard as a retirement project, and it has really progressed. In the past, they have owned a bar on the Jersey shore, sold trees in Florida, were fisherman, and they have great stories to share. Although they are just beginning their business, you can tell that they really are the type to succeed because they love what they do. The wine selection was nice, and the wines were more on the dry-side, which I prefer. Their Chardonnay and Rasberry wine were my favorite. They have beautiful grounds, so I suggest bringing food with you and staying a while.
Once you drive down the crepe myrtle lined driveway and park your car, you will be greeted by the official Parker-Binns Winery greeter - Lulu the dog. Lulu was rescued by winery owners Bob and Karen. In fact, a portion of the sales of the "Loco Lulu " wine goes back to the very rescue organization which saved Lulu. Enter the tasting room or hang out on the covered patio and enjoy the views of this beautiful property. Bob and Karen will be your gracious hosts as they explain their wines and how they came to be. Their daughter, Kelly, and son-in-law, Steve, will be on hand too. They are super friendly and can be found serving their delicious free pizza on Sunday afternoons right out of their wood-fired pizza ovens. We often bring our own picnic to enjoy with our favorite Parker-Binns wine, Pea Ridge. The property is beautiful and is home to various farm animals-- llamas, donkeys, chickens, and Lulu, of course! We enjoy this gem in the heart of western North Carolina. Be sure to visit whenever you plan to be in the area! Pet Lulu for us!
My wife and I never knew of this vineyard until we received a recommendation from Butterfly Creek Inn. What a great surprise!! The owners were wonderful and instantly made you feel as you were part of their family. The locations and views are incredible. You can enjoy a tasting of their wines in the Tasting Room on the outdoor patio or on the raised deck with some stunning views of the mountains, valleys and the property.I've never been much of a fan of sweet wines such as Blackberry or Muscadine, but I found myself enjoying their vintage. Make sure you try the Cab - definitely one of our favorites!
We always have a great time when we visit this vineyard. Beautiful gardens! Friendly dog and hilarious owners. A nice variety of wines. The owner is so busy telling stories and interacting with people that the tasting doesn't go very quickly so keep that in mind if you're in a hurry! They always take photos of their guests and post them on Facebook :)
great winery and better people!! We enjoyed this place very much, very nice place and great wine. Even enjoyed the mini farm
This is a nice winery close to SC. The view is good and the atmosphere is laid back. Take some time and talk with the owners.
My husband and I were on the Polk County Farm tour, and this winery was one of our stops. What a wonderful surprise. The owners were exceptionally friendly, along with the atmosphere and settings. We enjoyed the tasting so much, that we purchased their excellent wines. A group played music outside under the gazebo, which was in the beautiful flower garden. We will definitely take our frequent visitors to this vineyard, to also enjoy the beauty, friendliness, music and wines.
