This outdoor sculpture garden is especially beautiful when everything is in bloom. It's calm and peaceful and you forget that you're in downtown Minneapolis. The Walker and Sculpture Garden often host special events like Rock the Garden and mini golf. The garden is also nice in the winter when the weather is decent. The Spoon Bridge and Cherry is always a fun photo op.
The big deal here is the cherry and the spoon but I thought the other exhibits were more interesting. There is a map in the boxes ranged about. The garden is open from 6:00 so you can go early if you want. The weather was still winter I would imagine it would be better in the spring/summer
When the weather is nice this is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the sculptures throughout the garden. There are plenty of benches to sit and just enjoy the view.
Trendy, scenic, and interesting, the Sculpture Garden is a must for visitors and residents alike. Located right outside of downtown, it is easy to walk to and gives a great view of the skyline.
The Sculpture gardens offer a variety of different art for all ages. You can illusions, metal sculptures, and wooden sculptures too. A great family past time.
Not everybody knows how beautiful Minneapolis is, especially in winter, but the Sculpture Garden will convince you of the city's fine reputation for the arts and for a beautiful urban setting. Go to the garden, enjoy the sculptures--not just the famous spoon and cherry--before indulging yourself in a visit to the Walker Art Center next door.
I love this place. I have been several times and will visit again. A great place to take visiting relatives and family. The Cherry is always a favorite. I have not been there in Winter, but may go if the weather is agreeable.
We were married in Stillwater MN and were looking for something fun and exciting to do and we found the sculpture gardens. The variety of awe inspiring sculptures was amazing, and it was free.
Another great park full of sculptures and an amazing mini golf course based out of artistic "sculpted" design. Much fun to be had in Minneapolis at this location walking around.
Beautiful in winter, and altogether abandoned, the Sculpture Garden was a quaint sight to behold. As a pre-plan to the Walker Center, we walked through the snow to the giant cherry to take pictures and were pleasantly surprised with the caliber and precision of the sculptures.
