We go to The Gallo Center twice amonth on average. We see concerts, plays, comedian, every type of venue. It's the best venue for ALL types of arts. No more San Fransisco for us! We keep our money in the valley at an awesome center for the arts... The Gallo Center! Tina M
We live about 2 hours away, but have recently been here for two events. We were so pleased that the doors open early and that there is seating in the lobby area. (I have some health issues). There are all sorts of volunteers to point you in the right direction; they are very pleasant. We have enjoyed the events we have attended. The one thing that could be improved - is more space between the rows so that you don't have to stand up to let someone by who is going down the row of seats. We have been to one live theater where the space was ample and it just made it so very nice!I guess one other thing - is that if the seats were staggered so that the row in front of you was 1/2 chair offset from yours, that would help. Even though the theaters have tiered/raised seating, at an event last night, a very large (tall and heavy) man sat in front of my husband, and then my husband could not see the pianist. Had the seats been staggered row to row, it would have been a bit better. We will not hesitate to attend other events here.Parking - street and also city garage.
I am happy every time I visit the Gallo Center. I have sat in the upper corner of the balcony to the third row of the orchestra and everywhere in between. The ticket prices are very reasonable. They provide discounts if you book so many shows within the same season. Ordering the tickets online or by phone is very easy. I only have good things to say and will be back many times.
Have been previliged to take in numerous performances here...never disappointed....every seat in the house is good! The variety of events offered is outstanding...from kids performances to Christmas Concerts...and much in between...Country Singers, Jazz...and more! Easy parking and restaurants nearby are very convenient!
This is a great venue for concerts, plays etc, and the ticket prices are reasonable but, as is often the case, it panders to the lowest common denominator. The only classical music concerts scheduled in any given season involve the Modesto symphony. This is a good local orchestra, worth hearing, but the programming inevitably involves popular classical staples- Handel Water Music, Tchaikovsky 6th, Pictures at an Exhibition etc. A town the size of Modesto should be able to support some international orchestras or chamber groups and program a little more ambitiously. Everything else on offer is country music, light Jazz, etc, plenty of which is on offer in the area anyway.
The Gallo is always a great place for many kinds of entertainment. They try to provide a wide variety of things, from individual singers to Broadway shows to local talent in the smaller theatre. There are virtually no bad seats and the ticket prices fluctuate depending on the type of entertainment offered.
We love the Gallo Center so much that we bought season tickets! The seat are wonderful, parking is a breeze and there are great restaurants nearby.
Great venue for live performances in Modesto. The acoustics were just fabulous. The seating provides an excellent view of the stage even from the sides. We had tickets in the last row on the end...so I write from experience. There are beverages and snacks available for purchase. You can bring drinks into the venue when you purchase a special cup. Parking in the area is plentiful.
I love going to this place. Great venue, great atmosphere and a great way to spend an evening to gain some culture.
We have seen several productions here. What a jewel for Modesto! The facility is gorgeous, the staff so friendly, and the performances top notch! Popular shows sell out quickly, so if you see something you like buy the tickets ASAP! I love that they have so many childrens' shows and offer discounted tickets to local schools.
