The other side of CBD melbourne. The entire street is full of graffitis on both sides (which are authorised). They are high quality and some of them thought provoking. We found some new graffitis being made (evening time) which in itself was a memorable experince. It is <5 mins from flindler's station - a must visit!
The graffiti art in Hosier Lane, off Flinders Street, opposite Federation Square, is simply amazing. The works of art here are ever-changing, so if you've visited once, you simply have not seen all there is to see. Be sure to take your camera with you when visiting this display of Melbourne street art.
超爱在这里街拍,而且涂鸦隔一段时间就会变。这里街拍超级有艺术感,很有特色虽然世界各地都有涂鸦但每个地方的涂鸦各有特色技术也不同非常爱这里^^
Easy to find. It's always changing and if you're lucky, you'll get to see someone spray painting. This is art and it's free and real. Not some pretentious art gallery where there's a rock and 500 people taking a photo of it. It's raw and very very tasteful. What more could you want?
Don't be scared of the alleys and lanes in Melbourne - especially this one as there are always other people there, wandering along looking at and photographing (or creating) the street art! Hosier Lane is an amazing example of urban street art at its best. I have no idea how the artists get up so high on some of the buildings! Take photos while you can as next time you visit it is likely that the artwork you appreciated has been painted over or tagged. The tagging is a shame, especially if it is vulgar, but that is just how it is. I think generally there is respect for the finer or larger pieces and they tend to last longer. There is even a little place along the lane to buy coffee and something sweet. Personally I wouldn't pay for a laneways tour, just grab a map and go exploring! Much more fun (and free!) :)
很隐蔽的街头艺术场所,里面有很多艺人的最精彩、最有创意的作品。
This is not only a unique tourist venue but a local favourite. It keeps true the essence of graffitti art....the art changes almost daily. Although there have been several I wished could be kept forever. The art varies from simply stunning, cheeky, provocative and satirical. Each art has a contemporary social commentary. Hopefully Hosier Lane remains given the prospect of hotel development proposal. It is a significant urban space!
Not that interesting unless you really like wall art/graffiti.Crowds of tourists like to have Kodak moments.
Melbourne has some really spectacular laneways that hold some of the best street art around. Don't worry about your safety when in these places as the riff raff generally does not hang around here. It also changes regularly, so come back in six months time and you will see some new pieces around. Love the fact, that it is not all paintings, there are some really abstract pieces of work around too.
Melbourne has some great lane ways and this one doesn't disappoint. The artwork is continually changing and is such a great spot for these talented artists to show off their skills. Every time you visit this lane way there is something new and different to see. Some people just walk down the lane way but there are a couple of small streets off the side that also have art on the walls, street and even the bins so make sure you explore it all. It's very safe and it's free!
