Well organized tournament with friendly volunteers everywhere to guide new comers. Amazing arrangements for food and beverages. The system of reserving seats in outside courts is a real pain - any person who is interested to watch a match mid way has literally no chance of getting in - Travel arrangements are very good - FREE tram ride late into the night for the night session ticket holders is a god send- There was longer queues for the washrooms than the coffee shops -
went there for a concert.Easy walk from CBD. Seats great .sound good. No problem viewing stage. Toilets clean at intermission.Food and drink overpriced but thats fairly standard for any event place
A little too small it seemed for this kind of event & food & drink a little pricey. Walked from fed square which was abit of a walk so taxi probley a better bet & security ppl half were ok but half not so.
It doesn't matter where you are seated because you get a good view of the game regardless! There are tuck shops available, however slight more pricey than outside.
We went to the Eagle's concert here. The venue and facilities are brilliant. The usual lines for food and drink moved quickly. The crowd moved quickly and orderly after the show. Ushers were friendly and helpful.
Great location to see live music...great food choices....lovely beef rolls...only gripe no loo's on ground floor...
The Rod Laver Arena is a nice stadium in the Melbourne Park, not far from the city center and directly at the Yarra river. Its named after the Australian tennis legend "Rod Laver". Good for sport events like tennis (Australian Open in January) and any kind of concerts. Good view from every seat. Worth to visit Rod Laver Arena!
Geat for watching the Australian Open and then wandering to watch various outside courts. The arena is airconditoned and has cmfortable seats. There was plenty of food and drink outlets and everyone is in a fantastic mood.!!
I enjoyed watching the Australian Open finals; with Murray beating the local Aussie Nick Kyrgios. All was very well organized, with food, beverage, and bathroom easily accessible. Free transit from the City via a tram was great. I purchased a ticket at an office near the visitor center for this match. There is also a ticket office near the venue. I recommend going early to purchase tickets; as well as going early to enjoy the festive grounds that include concerts.
Absolutely had to attend the Aussie Open when we discovered we would be in Melbourne at the right time. Day passes were great, but nothing like watching a live match at Rod Laver---hubby even says he'll never look at tennis the same way again.
