arrived friday late afternoon with reservations made weeks in advance. Had to cut our own grass again upon arrival. I guess they didn't expect campers on a holiday weekend. Had to watch out for all the kids riding golf carts and 4 wheeled carts as fast as they could go. Even well after dark. There was even one guy riding all weekend on a lawn tractor with no mower deck on it. Park looked like they were a month behind in getting ready for the season. Five or six of the rides in the park across the street were not working, and a lot of the shops are now gone. The glory days for this park are lone gone. R.V. park never did fill up like in past weekends.
Ive been going to indiana beach since 2000. I know its not the same since Spacman owned it but you know what if we didint have it in this town we couldn't stay a town. I've been here summer 2012 I always go on quarter day I see more then hundreds of people all day. I plan to get a job here this summer. You have to remember were not a big place on the map. Everybody knows were kings island is or dollywood or six flags or even the wisconsin deals. It's somthing for us kids to do around here. I think you'd have a fun day here either with friends or family.
We checked in and first thing ferry wasn't running and they didn't bother to tell us hear it from other campers. Shower later mold all over the shower stall and shower curtain nasty. A fresh coat of paint would at least help the bath houses. Sat. walked in the office and paid 69.00 for the all day water park and theme park. Walked back outside my husband said we have to walk tram has a flat tire. i went back in and said to all the personnel you couldn't tell me the tram was out of order. They all just look at me, was so upset. Asked to talk to a manger and they told me to call New York number. The employees were rude as can be I work with the public and if we treated people the way I was treated I would not have a job. Then I asked for maps of the park and she took one off the wall to copy it then she tells me she can't copy it it is to big. I went over to Ideal and they were so nice and professional and they had all the maps and things I wanted.
Just was not happy with the entire Indiana beach camp or park.. could find better cleaner places to spend time with the family.
We came here July 5,2014, currently still here since no refund can be mafe BUT i highly doubt we will use our last day, we paid for 3 nights, now on 2ndnight. First moment here and our reservations were listed to include water and electric, which we paid for , we get to campsite, set up and there's NO plug for regular campers, our site was ONLY for RV .we were told we could rent an adapter wutj a $50 deposit, ummm NO! Then finally i got it after agreeing to put my card on file in case we dont return this adapter.fine.then we go set up, getting excited, go change, human waste ALL over the wall in the shower room/ bathroom, toilet paper everywhere, leaks and puddles everywhere, so gross! Our outside water pump would be cleaner if we had privacy, the night came and all we heard was parties all night long, drunken idiots everywhere, NOT a family place AT ALL! Not sure what occired but 6 squad cars at entrance at 1am, then loud fireworks at 3am from a big group of partiers. I'm not sure where people get this is FAMILY friendly! I do have to say that tonight (night 2) is more calmer, but we wait for this trolley thing to get to the amusement parkand some heavy set white man ignores our waves coming in the camp grounds, just to yell at us on his way out that we neex to wait behond the office, then drives OFF, ok, we can wait a few feet away BUT why not say anything when we wavef u diwn first time?! We go inside the office to complain finally, to say everything thay has occurred, to ASK for a clean bathroom, a courtesy trolley driver, NOT too much to ask for! Well apparently so since the cashiers said manager is busy and the only people whp are her boss is corporate in New York, the call center we call to reserve, call center says we need to.complain to the park... so basically NO way to complain, NO way to get ur money back either! This was my first time n definitely will BE MY.LAST! I rather pay for six flags and stay out there!
We stayed in the Ideal Beach campground at Indiana Beach for Labor Day weekend. This campground used to be the Yogi Bear Jellystone campground. It is clean and well maintained. The pool was nice and clean. There was a shallow kiddie pool for the little ones that was nice and clean too. Sites were a bit small, but we only had a next door neighbor on one side of us. Showers and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There was a free trolley or ferry boat to take you over to the park, so that was handy. The ferry wasn't the prettiest thing on water, but it got you back and forth from the park to the campground quickly and trouble free. We would stay here again.
We stayed in the suite with a lake view. If was really great because we could sit on the balcony and watch the people having fun. One of the good things is you can't smoke in the room but having the balcony you are able to go out there an smoke. The room has two bedrooms and a sofa bed. Plenty of room for five or six people.
The nascar campground is a joke. We took our six grandkids there for a few days in august. We paid $60 for a campsite, there was no bb grill on it, you had to pay $5a day for wifi if needed, pay to use the little and i mean little water slide.kid area, it close at like.4 clock in the afternoon, the resturant closed at 1 clock in afternoon. There was no other swimming area and the play grounds are located far away from the camping tent area. The amustment park is very dirty, very expensive and most of the rides were broken or 1 emplyee ran 2 rides, so you would ride 1 and have wait for the. Ride attendant to shut 1st ride down to.start.second ride. I would never recommend either of these places to anyone.!
So so sad to see what has happened to Indiana Beach and the campsite over the last few years. WHAT HAPPENED?! New owners I was told. The NASCAR campsite itself wasn't bad. If you are a partying kind of person, don't mind loud music, movies, and golf carts speeding past your campsite until 3am, then this is the place for you! But if you are looking for nice family getaway to enjoy a little outdoor relaxation, stay FAR AWAY from this place. They definitely do not enforce the 11pm quite time, and seem a bit perturbed when you make a complaint. We are a camping family, and have camped in many places, but have never been surrounded by so many inconsiderate people, and a non caring staff. We took the little ferry to the park, I mean a rusted boat with peeling paint, and wooden splintered seats... The Park itself is in deplorable condition. MANY of the rides were shut down (yet you still have to pay the same fee for all rides), peeling and faded paint, shops boarded and closed. It's sad to see this wonderful long standing staple in Indiana falling apart. Shame on Morgan RV Resorts for letting it get this way. The Spackman Family must be so disappointed. Sad.. so so sad. My family was lucky enough to see the park several years back when it was in good shape. It was my hope that someday my husband and I could take our grandchildren to this little amusement park, for a weekend getaway. But at this current rate, I highly doubt this long standing gem of Indiana will be around much longer. :(
It is not bad just wasn't great. Lots of spaces and like a small village but small pool and crowded.
