This is a fun place to go to catch a movie or 2. Make sure it is a nice night. You will have to use your radio to hear the movie, so either bring one along with you or use your cars. If you use your cars you may have to start your car just to make sure you dont kill you battery. This place you pay per person to get in but with the price you get to watch 2 movies. The popcorn and snacks are decent priced compared to other theaters in the area.
it was a good drive to the drive to the drive inn. it cost about the same going to the movies. me and my boyfriend took chairs and sit outside the car wish they still have the spreakers on the poles.
For Father's Day weekend, my family and my daughters good friend took a trip down to the drive in. We stayed in nearby Owensboro Kentucky to make a weekend of it. It was nice to see the movie on the big screen outside. The air-conditioned snack bar offered a nice variety of reasonably priced refreshments. The movies were current with double features being played on each of five screens. My advice to you would be to arrive early and pick a good spot to park. Have the kids play some yard games like frisbee etc. to pass the time before the movie starts. Individuals who arrive late have difficulty finding good parking spots as many families come in large pick-up trucks. We got one of the last spots for the particular movie that we wanted to see. Our view was horribly blocked by people sitting in lawn chairs in the back of their truck. Finally, bring lawn chairs, Mosquito repellent, and a battery operated radio to listen to the movie with as the inside of your vehicle can get pretty warm.
This drive in shows current new releases. We were able to see Dispicable Me 2 - 20 of us. We were staying at local Lake Rudolph and grilled hot dogs, wrapped them in foil and took them along. My nephew has a pickup truck in which several of the teenagers saw the movie from the bed of the truck, but the rest of us took bag chairs and we all had popcorn and snacks. We did not stay for the second feature, but being from Chicagoland, it's a great value to be able to see two movies for $8 per person! If there is a criticism here, it would be when the first movie lets out - those that are staying for the second feature still have their bag chairs and such out on the grass so you really have to be careful when pulling out if you're not staying. Watch for little ones darting in and out of cars - maybe if there were about 15 minutes before the second feature starts that would be ideal. All in all - great value!
There are 5:) screens which is alot coming from CA, land of Drive-ins. I was impressed. They have good food & lots of selection. My husband & I have been twice & will be back. We dont have children but nothing like laying in the back of your truck under the stars to make you feel like a kid again. Come early b/c it does fill up. Sunday nites they have a carload special for big families. ($16 I think.)
Me & some girl friends had went & watched 2 movies for the price of one in the great out doors miss that where I live we had to drive a little piece to get there but it was worth it.
One of the last of it's kind! It's a small family owned business & ran by really nice people who act like family. You can watch a 2 movies for 1 price outside or in your car. $8 for adults & $4 for kids 3-11. Kids 2 & under are free. It's great for families especially w/small kids. Put out a blanket on the ground & they can move around. Come early and let them play to get the wiggles out before the movie starts. Play ball in front of the big screens. There are 5 screens in all. The movies sound comes through a radio so if your car doesn't have one, bring one. They are ones to be "loaned" out in the concession stand for a deposit of your drivers license or $10., you get back either when you return it. The concessions are clean & reasonably priced when compared to other theaters near by. You can also bring your own cooler filled w/goodies. No grills are allowed. They have a website that tells what is playing because it changes weekly. Go to http://www.holidaydrivein.com/ to see what's playing!
My wife and I went there are five screens and they all show two movies for 8$ a piece and we enjoy going on the weekends and they show current and up to date showings.
We love going to the drive in! It's great that we can take my son here to experience it. We go a lot during the summer months. I think it's a better price than going to the movies. They also offer food and beverages and have bathrooms as well a few swings out for the kids! We also purchase food while we are there to help with keeping the Drive in open! This is a dying thing more and more drive ins are closing every year. Show your support and take your family out for a great time!!! Oh and did I mention you get 2 movies for the price of 1! If you want to stay late you can catch the 2nd film!!!!
This place has 5 screens that the movies are played on from new digital projectors. Watch them as you sit in your car or bring a chair or blanket to sit under the stars! If you don't like the movie you picked then you can move on nights that are not super busy. The movies are from the newest available. The only warning is that you can see the other screens. They may have content that is not what you want your little one to see. They try to keep the same rated movies together, but at times it's not possible. It has a concession stand for all your belly wants!! Reasonably priced and delicious! Opens the first week in April!!
