We did the wagon ride with 5 kids, ranging from 3 to 11. Everyone had a great time. It was fun to see the animals up so close. It was definitely worth the money and I would do it again next time I'm in the area. Watch out for the ostriches. They were the first animals we encountered and they are pretty good at stealing the food buckets right out of your hands. Hold tight! I wish I had a video rolling...

I have visited here twice with my 7 year old grandchild. She loves it as do I. We learned a lot about the different animals as we fed them from the "hay" wagon. I can't imagine driving my car through it.

This is a fun day for the kids, Its a unique experince driving thorugh and seeing all the animals. Or family does prefer zootastic though

Lazy 5 Ranch is one of our "must do" experiences when we have young guess at our Mooresville NC lake house. It is a drive-through animal park featuring several hundred exotic and farm animals. The ranch has picnic areas, animal petting areas and a variety of interesting and educational exhibits.Most important to the kids is the Lazy 5 Ranch fenced-in drive through area. It's populated with a variety of goats, antelopes, and other somewhat tame (but still wild) animals that are allowed to roam free within the fenced-in "drive-through" zoo area. Bring cash because the ranch does not accept credit cards. In addition to paying the admission fee, before you enter the drive through area, be sure to buy animal food so that your young guests can feed the animals who will approach your vehicle.Many people drive their own cars through the zoo area and let the youngsters feed the animals that will come right up to the car window. The kids will love it when the goats, deer, llamas, whatever stick their muzzles through the open car window to get at the food being offered. (Warning: As the animals try to get at the food, animal food's going to be scattered inside your card and little hooves can scratch your car finish . . . so take the wagon if you can. To avoid the mess, we recommend that you call ahead and call early and make a reservation for the wagon ride through the zoo. Do that and you will save cleaning a messy car interior and you will get a close-up view of additional animals that do not roam free and are housed back from the road.Lazy 5 Ranch is lots of fun. Plan on spending at least two or three hours there.

Be aware that this is a hot spot for summer camp field trips. Although the children would go on the big wagon through the ranch, the enclosed exhibits can be a bit crowded when the camps visit. Ditto on the playground and picnic tables. Slow going through the beginning when cars barely move due to the novelty of emus, goats, and antelope. Thereafter seeing dozens of the same, you move better. You care told not to feed the zebra, buffalo, and those big horned steers, but people do and they come to your cars looking for feeding. The rule is set up by Dept of Agriculture and the ranch can loose the licensing if people keep it up.The feed goes really fast. Those animals are many and greedy. It is quite an enjoyable time. It is a cash only outfit. The money goes into maintaining the place, not making a big profit. Help them out by abiding by the rules of not feeding the big guys.

This ranch is full of animals to see but what makes it different is you can just drive through in your own vehicle and get close-up looks at the animals. Some of the animals come up to your window and really get close!!! Children love to get close to these animals. But it's also a good place to take your senior citizens because they don't have to walk to see the animals! I loved seeing the pot-belly pigs and the giraffes. A real good assortment of animals. And if you call ahead you can take a wagon ride through the ranch and feed the animals, which is awesome!! Anyone that likes animals will love this place. Plan to visit!!

I took some visitors to the area and the little ones enjoyed it. Very nice picnic environment to enjoy the trip. It is fun

Enjoyed taking visiting family. Lots of animal to see & feed. If the weather is nice, can't beat the wagon rides. The animals come right up to beg for food. Staff is friendly.A bit of a ride to get to & a bit pricey for a large group, otherwise great fun.

Of all the times I've been here, i can say that i literally was dying from the hot, dry environment. Bring water, lots of water!!! Other than that, Lazy 5 is a nice park with the typical animals-in-a-cage, where you can see birds and stuff up close, and then there is the cart ride. You get a bucket of animal feed and you stick it in Animal's faces so they can gorge down on it. Ostriches are one of the main animals there as they are quick and will jab at the food bucket. They will even reach their head inside of the cart just to eat the food! Lovely place, you get the Africa experience at home (for some people,) and a fun, enjoyable experience!
