Minnetrista has museum space, holds outdoor kid-friendly events (Faerie, Sprites, and Lights; Luminaria; Graden Fair; Farmer's Market; PBS events, etc.). Plus it is a great place to see nature. Walk through the garden and nature areas. You never know what you might find! A great place for the family to visit.
There are so many types of activities supported at Minnestrista: obviously, the cultural center, but also the Farmer's Market, Oakhurst Gardens, walking paths, bike paths, gardens, & apple orchard. Arguably the best place in Muncie; certainly a "can't-miss" for visitors.
The grounds around Minnetrista are beautiful, and it is interesting to observe the mansions which housed the Ball families.
We enjoyed a beautiful outside wedding on the gardens at the Minnetrista center. There was plenty of parking and the seating was perfect for the size wedding we attended.
Throughout my years at Ball State, by far my favorite spot to run has been in Minnetrista. It's well-lit at night, the grounds are beautiful, and the trails are ideal for runners. I used the Minnetrista trails to train for a race I ran in Battersea Park in London.Additionally, the farmer's market is also a great way to connect with the community and get to know other like-minded individuals in Muncie. On a nice day, you really should go check this place out. In a town that doesn't have much to offer, Minnetrista is a bright spot!
They used to play some music, but haven't done much for years. The museum is cheesy and the whole thing is like a joke.
Great displays, informative, well worth the time off the interstate. And you can stop at Ball State and get that special someone a "Ball U" shirt or hat.
I enjoy walking around Minnetrista and enjoying the many paths and trails that wind through this beautiful area, in which you can enjoy nature and even catch a glimpse various wildlife from time to time, as well as the beautiful gardens. They also have a Farmer's Market every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning, which is just spectacular!
Muncie has a Farmers Market on Saturday's the local fruits and vegetables you can purchase. Grab your bags and go shopping.
I love this place! They always have new exhibits and interesting community activities going on. I'm so glad the Farmers Market is back! & the new renovated orchard shop is great!
