Every trip to Munich has to include at least one trip to the Viktualienmarkt.....The beers are excellent, the atmosphere jovial, the food....well nothing bad to say, the choices are just incredible. You see so many different nationalities in one place. The fresh fruit and vegetables are out of this world and the selection of sausages and cheeses - well so much to take in (take a huge shopping bag)....highly recommend this for any tourist
Varies choices for local food and can enjoy great sunshine. Must come here to see local farm products. It's great !!
If you want to experience the atmosphere of the local market, you should come here. If you want to buy some special ingredients, fruits or seasoning, you should come here. If you want to eat fresh and inexpensive food, you should come here. There is a metro station around the market and it takes around 5 minutes to visit the market from central station. It should be the great spots for tourists, especially for Asian travellers. Just spend around three hours here to experience the local culture and great foods.
The market is a great place to visit to buy foodie souvenirs, eat lunch or breakfast and have a beer in the sun. I particularly liked the honey shop and the amazing baked goods. Highly recommended for a pit stop.
We spent a lovely Saturday morning here, sitting in the sun, enjoying some wurst and beers. Great to just walk around, grab a coffee, beer, pretzel, fresh fruits. Something for everyone!
Lots of booths with different eats and crafts to check out. Beer was great and plenty of tables to sit at. No public restroom that i noticed which made it difficult for me after my liter of beer. Near lots of attractions and public transportation.
This was an unexpected delight as we walked around downtown Munich. This farmer's market probably covers an acre with a dazzling display of honey, dozens of varieties of mushrooms, and enough finger foods that all you need for lunch is to casually stroll from booth to booth. Don't rush yourself, there are plenty of places to enjoy a great beer before once again heading toward the booths again. There are places to purchase tourist items--but I came for the food. Check for schedules.
