After being out most of the day, a great place to relax and enjoy a drink made with fresh fruits and some alco is the famous "Daiquiri Shack". Conveniently located just steps outside of the Melia hotel. Enjoyed mango, pineapple and coconut drinks very filling and tasty, lots more variety to choose from. Met some wonderful people hanging out and talked for hours, it was like sitting out in a patio on a summer day. Would definately recommend for a hangout spot after a day at the beach or shopping, pure relaxation. Daiquiris are only $6 but worth it.
The best drinks in Nassau!!Fun stop, great people, fresh fruit and a large delicious drinks (loaded or virgin) @ the best prices anywhere. Never tried the food...i go for the drinks.
this little place is awsesome, just across the street from the mwlia hotel, best drinks on the island
Best place for inexpensive daiquiri's. Daiquiri's were $6.00 each and beer $3.00. Very fun atmosphere
The daiquiris are still the best, but the location has changed. Baha Mar bought the Shack's land. It is now in the small shopping village across from Melia!
Went here for a daiquiri and it was fresh and delicious. They had wings that were amazing and at a good price. The guy who made the drinks was very nice and fun. Definitely worth the stop. They also have stands near by so you can browse as you drink.
When you walk into the shack you see fresh fruit stacked up along both sides of the bar. If you look above the door after walking in, you will see the list of daiquiri options. They are $6 a piece and well worth the money. We ordered Coconut Daiquiri and then watched the bartender slice up fresh coconut into the blender to make our drinks. They are amazing and you can get them either with or without alcohol. I believe without alcohol is $5 each. Well worth the $1.50 jitney ride if you happen to be staying downtown or elsewhere.
But, a long way to go for a good daiquiri, and now the taxi ride is $15.... (Take the #10 bus for $1.25)... They show some pictures of the old daiquiri Shack. The taste is still the same... WONDERFUL.. But, until Cable Beach "opens up" with all of the new resorts, this is a long way to go for a drink...
We stayed at the Melia, just access the street from the daiquiri shack. We popped in for a drink at least once a day. At half the price of the resort drinks, we thought it was quite a bargain. They tasted great also.
Had a great time stopping here, cheap drinks loaded with rum for $6. Cheap wings which are pretty good too! $6 for 6 wings. Employees were very awesome as well!
