This is a pretty typical outlet mall. I has most of the popular brand-name stores. We were there the weekend before Black Friday, and there were not many deals to be found. The Outlets are a short cab ride from the Gaylord Hotel, and worth the visit if you have some shopping to do while visiting National Harbor.
Went to Tanger Outlets after visiting National Harbor. It was very easy to get to and unlike some of its brethren, had large weather protected areas. The downside is that the police had an overwhelming presence there when we visited. It looked like an episode from Cops! Several suspects were cuffed and leaning against the front of one cruiser, while several other squad cars patrolled the area with lights and sirens.
This outlet is close to Washington and cost us around $25 each way on Uber. We had been staying downtown DC.The outlet is smaller than others (we recently went to Premium Outlets in Woodbury outside of NYC) but carries the major brands. It's a new outlet and quite user friendly. There's a Starbucks, Aunty Anne's and Johnny Rockets but not much more for food and beverage that we found.Compared to the Woodbury experience, we found the in store prices to be identical. However, the outlets coupon book was not comparable and the offers within it not so good - they need to improve this. The other outlets in the DC area are much further away and less than easy to get to without a car. This is a good alternative and if you know the brand you want you won't go far wrong here.
I had retail therapy here this week and got some great bargains at Chico's and Brooks Brothers. On another visit I bought losts of childrens clothes at Carters and OshKosh. Plan your parking based on the stores you plan to visit. Otherwise it can be a long walk carrying many bags.
nice selection of stores, very clean etc. only thing is a lack of eating places. Went to Johnny Rockets which want great. Ample parking and easy access in and out of the mall. All outside stores
It was snowing when we arrived so noticed there was no under cover parking or walkways through the centre. It's was easy to get around, no where to eat but plenty of stores to keep us busy.
wide variety of shops in here, this was the first shopping mall i went to in the US as its nearby Indian Head where i stayed. great deals and sale items in w wide selection of brands. I enjoyed my time shopping here.
Tanger Outlet finally opened last fall with the full complement of stores fully accessible in the early winter. A very good selection of stores with a full inventory of merchandise in all stores. It is anchored with Tanger's major shops plus a few that are not normally found in its malls (Crocs, Gold Toe). Enthusiastic clerks who are knowledgeable and pleasant make shopping both convenient and enjoyable. Parking can be a challenge on weekends and during special sales. Some decent bargains if you know what you are looking for. Food is difficult to find and neither tasty or nutritious so come to shop, not to eat. Easily accessible within PG County and across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge for northern VA counties and cities.
Did a outlet shopping at Tanger outlet. Took a taxi which took us 20 minutes to reach. The day we went, it was raining the whole day. We reach the outlet, which have 67 stores, at around 930am, and there was nobody, so it was very good to shop. the crowd started to increase around noon time. Advice would be to go during weekdays. Familiar brands like Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Carters were all there. They also had Coach, Michael Kors for people who fancy branded stuff. Eateries are limited. Auntie Annes, Starbucks come to mind only. When going back getting a taxi would be tough. Do go to customer service, they can help to call a cab at no additional cost to bring you back the downtown Washington DC.
I have to be honest, I was expecting a lot more from this outlet mall. I didn't find the prices to be that much cheaper than what I pay for clothes back home and the selection wasn't great either. Nice there is an Under Armour...maybe I just came at the wrong time.
