If you are in Nerja, don't miss to visit this amazing cave. An adventurous place. Very old and found by accident som 60 years ago. Amazing sculptures to be seen, while you are walking deep down under. Some parts of the cave can be cold, so be sure to bring a jacket.
Wonderful deep caves just outside Nerja town. Easy short bus rise to caves. 9 euro entry fee for an unguided 45 min walk around the chambers. Quite steep walkways to the upper sections, but worth the climb. Stunning caves and we'll preserved. No gimmicks. Great short trip out. For 2 more euro you can combine with a visit to the museum, located in the town, beside the Balcón de Europa.
From malaga it took me less than 30mins to get to Nerja, easy access from the motorway and well sign-posted... It is effortless. We got there at 3:30, tickets were on sale at 3:45 and the entry was at 4., They take a group at a time., so if you miss the first entry, relax, another one starts every 45mins or so. 1€ for parking, not a lot of walking to the sight. Its not cold inside... 17-21 degrees all year round. And yes there are stairs but its do-able, i went with a granny of 65 and a young child. Very interesting., there are 11 'caverns' to see. Impressive!!!!The guide walks you through them: on the whole easy and comfortable. 9€ entry Is quite cheap., 5 for kids. There are loos and restaurant nearby. Well run! And why not give it a visit!? We loved the outing
These REALLY are a must. Just mind blowing, but perhaps not if you dont like the occasional rope bridge. Only about half of it --so far-- open to us, bur superb. A MUST !!
...The government employees who are managing it close the at 1 P M for their siesta. You have to return at 4. And they do not let you see any of the primitive art for so called "conservation" reasons. Live tours in Spanish are only available for the "chosen" groups. On the good note, parking is only 1 euro. Regardless if you visited the cave or not!

These caves are just fantastic. The history behind, how they were found by a co-incidence by some yongsters is one thing. another is what was happening in the caves years ago - it was a living place for folks and animals and it is a good idea to read about this before visiting. that will enhance the impression a lot. However, just the sight of the caves is fantastic, almost unbelievable! Visit the place, it speaks for itselves. There is good parking space, a small cafe and a souvenir shop, toilettes etc. The only problem would be that you must not have difficulties in walking. There are many steps and small passes in the caves. Also a little chilly down there so be prepared with a sweater! But enjoyable experience!
The caves are a short bus ride away and are definitely worth visiting. They are huge, the inside is vast and the lighting has been use to great effect. In the summer there are concerts - would love to be there for that.
Anyone visiting Nerja for the first time then the caves are a must as the presentation is excellent and the formations inside spectacular
This should, more appropriately, be "the cave" as 2 important caves are reserved for specialist groups so we don't get to see them. What we are offered is an exciting spectacle. I would like to have been told a little more about the origins and history on my way round. It's not expensive and the facilities are good.
