My boyfriend had a wonderful morning deep seas fishing with Jacko and caught a giant mahi mahi. Jacko was a wonderful guide and knows all about the area. We then went for lunch on a near by island and had fresh lobster, and a boat ride around the bay. I fantastic day in paradise!! Thanks Jacko! You're the man!
Took Stanley's deep sea fishing half day sunset cruise. Superb trip. Much more quiet and intimate than the tour operator trip. Only takes upto 20/25 persons. Catamarans looked noisy and slightly overcrowded. First off was snorkelling on the nearby reef. Then a nice cruise to The Pirates caves where kids were trying to earn a buck by jumping of the nearby cliff. Then on to the very western tip of the island - the lighthouse then back to Ricks Café. Passengers were able to get off the boat and jump the cliff at Ricks. Then a nice cruise back, watching the sunset and a distant thunderstorm, to Sensatori to disembark on to the beach. Bottled Red Stripe, Rum punch, soft drinks and water were all included in the price as were some small snacks. A great thank you to Robert, Martin, Tony and Jacko for a wonderful and memorable afternoon and early evening spectacle. Definitely a trip to take in.
Went on the half day fishing trip, didn't catch anything but had a great time spotting for Courtney. Dolphins came right up to the boat which was amazing. Also we saw flying fish that was a sight.
a group of 9 went with Tony and Jaco, they were wonderful. Fising was not great but we did catch some. would do this again.
After deciding to take the subset cruise, there's always some reservations about doing something you've never done before. But after the first moment we met Robert, we felt very comfortable. The cruise was not only educational, it was a blast! Guides Martin, Tony and Bambino looked after us and did an excellent job making sure everyone was comfortable and well looked after while snorkeling at the reef. Jacko was an excellent boat captain. We enjoyed cave swimming as well a watching the cliff divers. To top it off the sunsets were awesome! Can't wait to go back!! We consider the whole crew family!
On time pick up, great service and attention to detail on the boat itself, all boats were incredibly clean and tidy. Even though we didn't catch any fish, it wasn't from a lack of trying, and our shared group charter had a great time. There are certainly some sketchy places to try offshore fishing in Negril...if you want a safe, reliable, fun time, choose Stanley's.
Living in a sport fishing community at home, my expectations might of been a little too high. Although they were professional and picking us up and getting us out on time, they seemed to just sail straight out 8 miles and straight back 8 miles. I think they could've checked the bait a little more frequently as we went through tons of weeds and and each time they finally did bring Lauren to check it there were weeds. We were happy to be enjoying the day on the water in the sun so didn't complain but not a single bite!I guess that's fishing!!
This is based at the Azul Sensatori so was conveniant as I was staying there. I dived between the 19th and 27 feb this year. The set up is a bit ramshackle no where really to get changed without getting covered in sand, I had my own equipment so can not comment on theirs but listening to people who used the dive centre equipment I heard no complaints. The boat, well my first 6 dives was done out of a glass bottom boat which was awkward as there was no where to stand the dive equipment, so when ready to go you had to lift your gear on to a bench then get it on, entering the sea was a backward roll. Stanleys pre dive brief was informative except he did not allocate buddys, but as there was 3 of us or it was just me and him it was ok. I was doing 2 tank dives while everyone else did 1. Under the water was not the greatest for fish life, it seems the area has been fished out by illigeal fishing. Getting back on the glass bottom boat was not so bad as long as there was not to much of a sea swell..On my last day of diving as there were 7 divers we had a boat but again the other 6 only wanted 1 dive while I opted for 2 which was to my advantage because I went to GRUNTS REEF where we came nose to nose with 2 nurse sharks that made my day.If you want basic diving with no frills yes I would recommend Stanley for diving and cost, an 8 dive pack cost 320 dollars , which I thought was good value for what I got and it was comparable to some of the other small dive centres.Hopefuly as time goes on he will build this dive centre up as it has only been running for diving for 12 months..
Contacted Liz prior to my departure from Toronto. She emailed quickly and learned that my middle name is CASH. Liz picked up 4 of us from Grand Lido and brought us to her sight. We went 5 for 5 (4 Mahi Mahi 1 Jackfish) with Capt. Jack and 1st mate Tony. I'd book again in a. Heart Beat! Thanks Liz for a. Wonderful day.
We had Stanley's son as boat captain and he was way too lazy. Never changed any lures or any lures depth. His answer for every question I had about the fact that he was in no way proactive with his fishing was, Ya man no worries this is Jamaica Man......That made me mad, I fish almost everyday here in Canada and I know you need to adapt to your enviroment....150$ x2 lost. We should of just taken our little Catamaran of the resort and fished ourselves!!! but we did see dolphins and whales, the wife was happy about that, I didn't give a crap...lolll I wanted my trophy fish!!
