Traveled 150kms to catch the Traghettatori ferry from Numana to the Due Sorelle beach on the 28th of May last, to find the ticket office strangely abandoned. No timetable was posted on their office so we asked a nearby boat operator who assured us the ferries should be running. The nearby cafe, however, advised that they were only operating on weekends, despite their website clearly stating that the ferries were scheduled to be run daily (some of the times needed to be confirmed - but the others were guaranteed). An extremely inconsiderate company who behave with utter contempt for their customers. Be warned - their "timetables" are suggestions only and can in no way be trusted. By the way, the beach can no longer be reached on foot as the last section of the track has been closed. If you don't join the throngs in peak season it is extremely difficult to access.
I stayed in the area for almost a month in 2008-2009 and I loved it. The beach is gorgeous, the sand is soft and the water is really clean and clear , the port is full of ships that you see in the movies.
I have visited this place accidentally, but I was wondered how beautiful it is! Just 500 meter of cleanest water and sand! You can enjoy the sky, sun and sea.
We love Numana, the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because they squeeze you like a lemon to get every last cent out of you. We counted 7 free parking spaces in the entire town. We had to pay 5 euros a day to park beside our (noisy) aapartment, 1,80 an hour by the sea if we wanted to visit other nearby beaches and 1 euro an hour AT NIGHT in Porto Recanati. At least give tourists the opportunity to buy a day or week pass with which they can move around! Numana beach is not suitable for the elderly or disabled as there is quite a climb down and up. I am fit, but still have aching legs after carrying my tired 3 year old daughter back up to the town every time we visited!
