This trip was amazing. And it was amazing because of Marsha who's probably the best guide tour for Yosemite. She knows almost everything about this park and we could see that she really loves it. Btw, Yosemite park is very beautiful but I recommend to visit it in spring and not in summer as we did. Most of falls didn't have any water but it was stil great.Overall - I can only recommend it and the best way how to find everything good in this park is to Discover Yosemite. :-)
Excellent tour - wonderful time, good guide, very knowledgeable. Got to see all the major sights plus had the benefit of a guide with tremendous knowledge of the area and history.
Absolutely superb, thoroughly recommended. We only had two nights in Yosemite and using Tripadvisor this firm seemed a good choice. They contacted us the night before the trip advising us they would have to cancel as they needed a minimum of have four adults (we were a party of 3 adults and 1 child) so we agreed to pay a bit extra so that we could go on the trip. When I booked the trip in October last year I thought we would be packed into a minibus with lots of other tourists but Glenn turned up the next day with an enormous Cadillac that had three rows of seats, it turned out to be a tour just for us. Glenn has an enormous knowledge of the area and the people who live and work there, you can tell he is very passionate about Yosemite and this was much more than a job to him. The tour was totally unhurried and there was plenty of chance to stop and have a walk and take pictures. He was prepared for every eventuality, snacks / drinks / hats / walking poles / lunch / binoculars and even colouring books (although my children were bit old for that!). The trip was a highlight of our trip to the USA and we would have never have seen all the things we saw with Glenn if we had tried to drive around the park ourselves. Thanks.
We took a tour with 'Discover Yosemite' in Nov 2014. Our guide, Glen, was excellent! From the beginning he informed us of how the day was going to go, what we were doing next and he was always checking to see if we needed anything. He had excellent knowledge of the Yosemite area and you could just tell that he absolutely LOVED it there! We saw all of the big attractions in the park, getting out and going on short walks into viewing areas with Glen as he explained all sorts of interesting facts. We didn't get to see any bears, but we did see plenty of squirrels, mule deer and even a coyote! The tour provided lots of snacks (cookies, nut bars, etc) and drinks (water, juice & softdrink) for use throughout the day, plus a lunch of sandwiches and an apple is included (you can select your sandwhich when you book online). Unfortunately Glacier Point was closed due to forecast snow on the day we went, but Glen made it feel not so bad! He made sure we didn't finish early because of it and found some more great places to show us to fill the time. Definitely recommend this tour if you only have one day to see Yosemite! We were staying in Mariposa and we were notified the day before that our tour was cancelled as there weren't enough people on our route (we were giving lots of prior warning that this might occur). We had the option to transfer to the tour picking up in Oakhurst, about 1/2hr drive away. We took this option and we are glad we did!!
We booked a private tour for our party of 9 (including 5 children, aged 9 upwards). We had a great day. Lynne our guide knew the park so well, he even provided binoculars so we could try and find the climbers on El Capitan! He was good company, knowledgeable and handled all our questions, requests and needs throughout the day. We had all the best photo stops! The van was lovely and cool with loads of cold water, endless snacks and a great lunch. We booked everything on-line from the UK and it worked perfectly. We would all highly recommend Discover Yosemite.
We had our tour with Glen who was fantastic his knowledge of the area was brilliant, he took us to all the best places and provided knowledge and information about everything. He talked for the entire day (literally) whilst driving and walking. The trip lasts all day but lunch is provided (pre ordered, your choice of food) snacks and drinks are on offer all day and we were made to feel so welcome, I honestly cannot tell people how great this tour was, the bus picked us up from our hotel (Tanaya Lodge) and I would imagine it stops at other hotels also. Fantastic day, so many photos and photo opportunities. Brilliant :-).
At 9 October 2014 a take a tour with "Discover Yosemite" .I wish to thank to Marsha Eason, the tour guide, for the unforgettable great tour.
We decided to add on a trip to Yosemite National Park as part of our California vacation. We stayed at Tenaya Lodge and they listed several attractions in which we might be interested. We were intrigued by the tour of Yosemite and thought that a good way to get an overall view of the park and then take off on our own with the knowledge we would gain. We were very fortunate to be on the bus with Glenn, our tour guide. Glenn MADE that trip awesome with his extreme knowledge of the Park, plant life, history and explanations of things we would have never known had we tried to do anything on our own... or if we had had a different guide. I wish I knew his last name so that I could credit our fabulous tour to him, but we were extremely impressed and suggest that if anyone is at the Park, that they take the "Discover Yosemite" tour and request that Glenn be your guide.
We stayed in Yosemite in September this year, and were recommended this tour by the hotel concierge - and what a brilliant recommendation that was.We had a full day tour, seeing far more than we could have covered ourselves and thanks to our great guide Saul, we learnt so much. Saul was just the most knowledgeable guy who was willing to share knowledge and experience of this wonderful place. All food, snacks and drinks were provided. Stops were plentiful and for just the right amount of time. The "bus" was comfortable and the huge windows enabled everyone to enjoy the spectacular scenery.Best part of the tour - as you leave the tunnel and get your first view of half dome and el capitan, breathtaking, closely followed by seeing a bear in its natural habitat. Or was it the huge sequoias at the Mariposa Groves, or the glorious views from Glacier Point?? To be honest the whole day was wonderful.
We very much enjoyed our all day tour with Grant. He did a great job in showing us the sites and having lots of interesting information. Was a great way to see the sites in one day. We had a somewhat difficult couple in our tour who kind of messed up the last part of the tour in that they were rushing him back. The wife had a 6pm massage at the hotel (we heard her tell her husband) but told Grant it was 5pm so that he would get us back before 5. I'm not sure why they went on the tour as they didn't seem happy from the beginning of the day but Grant handled the situation well and we appreciated his knowledge at all the sites. Thank you!
