rafting, hiking, bike riding are the main activities in the park, along with wonderful historical landmarks nearby.
This was a brief stop as we had planned to spend most of our time here but a fall breaking my ankle the week before the trip limited our activities. I hope to return to ride in the future. The falls were really cool and had great potential.
I have taken many trips to Ohiopyle. I've gone camping, backpacking, white water rafting, hiking, natural water slides. It is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts, especially in the summer and fall. There are lots of attractions nearby like Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, as well as Seven Springs ski area.
I am hoping to get back there in the spring and stay over night so I can spend more than a day there. There is so much to see. Trails to walk. A bridge over the river. Many waterfalls. Some you can see without walking much. If you have limited walking you can just go to the overlook at the parking lot. We went in Oct so the leaves were turning. Beautiful! If you want to eat there, go to Falls Market and Restaurant. We didn't see much we wanted in the restaurant but outside the restaurant is a walk up BBQ that has the most delicious pulled pork and pit beef I have ever had! If you are adventurous, in warmer weather you can rent kayaks and ride the rapids. Many people riding bikes. Fun day for the whole family
Traveled through the area during the holidays and took some time to hike. Area is beautiful trails were clear and the waterfalls are worth the time. Only wish there was snow.
We spent just a couple of hours but hiked to the falls and to some rapids and saw kayak as we'll. you can do as much or as little and have a fun time here. While we did not, there are some eateries here and the weather was beautiful to sit outside.
Ohiopyle is great year round! From snowshoeing and sledding at Sugarloaf to biking along the GAP to hiking Ferncliff. And of course there is rafting. Something can be found for everyone.
Great hiking trails, spectacular views, ideal for families. Observed many folks on bicycles. Easily accessible by foot too. Wonderful way to spend the day.
Sometimes you run across things that you didn't know exist & there's almost no one else there & it's absolutely beautiful & the lighting is great for photos. This was one of those things. Be sure to stop by if you stumble across it.
A gorgeous campground that was so big, probably only saw a third. Many stops within the park to see. Waterfalls, natural waterslide, hilltop views, etc. so big and spread out, you'll never feel cramped. The Kentuck campground was very nice. Sites were large enough for privacy and ability to spread out. Very peaceful except for the train in the distance. I'm a light sleeper and heard the train in the middle of the night, sounded cool though! Look forward to returning for another great adventure on land and on the river!!
