The managers of the market, Dennis and Karlene, do a great job running this fantastic market. The variety of vendors is awesome. You can get produce, craft items, kettle corn, eggrolls, meat, cheese, and much more. The downtown businesses are very welcoming to all of the market visitors, so this set up is a win-win for everyone.
We went for the first time not expecting a lot of vendors because it is early June. There was much to chose from. Bought basil, asparagus Amish made pie, homemade bread. We love the diversity. Moslem women buying bread from Amish woman. Bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers for five dollars.
A fun event when in Oshkosh is taking in the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. It starts at 8 AM and runs through 12:30 June 2 through Oct. 20 in 2012. The event includes lots of interesting and fun food to eat, various crafts for sale, live music each week and special events throughout the season. And, the “stars” of the event are the wonderful fruits, vegetables, and flowers available. One of my personal favorites is “Pie on the Porch” where homemade pies are served each week. The pies change each week and the variety is incredible! Whether you live in the Oshkosh are or are visiting, don’t miss the Farmers Market!
If you are ever in Oshkosh, WI on a Saturday morning and enjoy Farmers Markets and all they offer, this is a MUST!Stand after stand of fresh veggies, fruits, etc.Along the way, look for the egg roll stand. Awesome egg rolls...chicken or pork. They also have an excellent crab meat Rangoon. And another must is "Teddy B's" BBQ. Great smoked turkey legs, but the real gem is the pulled pork sandwich. They will ask if you want cole slaw on it and your first thought will be "No thanks". But fight that thought and order it with cole slaw. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING taste treat.Another taste treat are miniature donuts (we call them fry cakes" made fresh right in front of you.I am not sure what time the market opens, but did notice that at 12 noon a lot of the stands started tearing down.
nice live music, good veggies and fruit. nice crafts and great egg rolls. Wonderful pottery, birdhouses. fun time
Well I defiantly disagree with the other reviewer that Oshkosh only has Walmart and fried food, there's plenty to see and do in Oshkosh you just have to go out there and look :) the farmers market is one of these little jems! They recently moved it to stretch down main st (great idea!). There are many vendors, great prices, and friendly people. Defiantly an event to visit if you haven't been before.
I have not been to the new spot inside the Merrill School for the winter, but loved going downtown on the streets, and the old Eagle's bldg in the winter. Many fresh produce vendors, and reasonable prices. Many have samples, and I've been able to purchase what I needed every time I went. Bring a stroller for the kiddos, its very busy.
This is a nice small farmers market. I was disappointed that there wasn't more organic produce available. We bought a barbecued turkey leg. Outstanding.
Ok, so Oshkosh is the land of WalMart and fried food. The Farmers Market stretching about 1/3 of a mike on Main St was awesome. We are contractors at EAA AirVenture, so having some decent be veggies for the week was something completely unexpected. Heirloom tomatoes, fres basil... I was thrilled. and prices were reasonable as well. Main St was also worth a visit in its own anyway.
The down town farmers market in Oshkosh takes over North Main street. Many vendors music and people make for an enjoyable morning.
