RESTAURANT: I love in the winter when they have their 60 bucks per couple dinner (includes a shared app and desert and an entree for each). The restaurant has great food and have options for vegetarians. If you call ahead, the chef will also whip something up for you (if you don't like the vegetarian option on the menu). Good food, great atmosphere. Dining outside in the summer is fabulous...can't beat the view. Wines are pricey. SPA: I love this spa. I have had the Traditional Cobble Facial a few time (lovely). I had a body scrub with the Vichy shower once... didn't love it b/c I was cold under the Vichy shower. Use of hot tub, fitness centre, steam room and outdoor pool (in summer) before/after treatment is nice but they don't always remind you of this when booking. Be sure to ask the best time to make use of facilities.
I visited Cobble Beach with 5 of my golfing buddies on July 30th. We have visited Canada, from the states, for the past 19 years for a week-long golfing vacation. We have had the opportunity to play approximately 35 beautiful courses - public and private in that time period. Believe me, we are very discriminating when it comes to our golf..Cobble Beach is hands-down one of, if not, THE BEST, facilities we have visited. The course is outstanding, but fair. The views are spectacular along the Owen Sound. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the food at the turn was great.I have also had the opportunity to play Bandon Dunes, Torrey Pines, courses in Bermuda and Hawaii, and Cobble can more than stand up to the comparison.I hesitated to write this review, because it's kind of an out of the way hidden gem, and I don't want to see it become too crowded, as we plan on returning.Top-knotch in every way.
We stayed here for a wedding - the wedding was absolutely spectacular and the views and photos were amazing. Great staff, great atmosphere overall fantastic. No complaints.
The restaurant at the golf course was very good. Everything is very new and very well done. Would go back for dinner in a minute
Unbelievable golf course, tough as nails !!! Club house facilities are top notch, breakfast satisfying and filling. I will be back with my wife for a stay. I can Golf and she can Spa. Difficult location to get to for a day of golf book a package and stay a few nights. If this resort was closer to Toronto it would be one of the top two in Canada. Beautiful place and staff. A must play.
Visited this golf course again and it truly remains one of my most favourable golf experiences. The course is immaculate from the fairways to the rough to the greens, and even the traps (of which there are 96) are special. The greens were fast and tricky to read. You definitely do not want to land your ball on the high side of the greens here.If you love to golf you just have to experience this place at least once.
I had lunch out on the patio with my parents. An amazing view, great selection for lunch. I had the seafood crepes and my parents the fish and chips both so good. I also saw other food come out to the other table and all looked good especially the salads. They are huge!
Cobble Beach Golf Links is a great test of golf while being fair to the golfer as well. Cobble Beach has a fantastic and friendly Pro Shop staff headed up by the very affable Head Pro, Warren Thomas. They have great on site accommodations from suites in the INN to cottages overlooking Georgian Bay. The course with it's multitude of tee blocks can play as long or short as you like it. The traps, and bunkers are very well maintained with awesome sand. Their Golf Course Superintendent "Brent" is second to none. If you are in the Owen Sound area you will not want to miss this course, it is my favorite by far.
What a beautiful course. Fun to play, excellent condition, fantastic mix of holes, scenic beyond belief. A bit on the pricey side compared to what I'm use to paying but definitely good value if you feel like treating yourself. I only wish it wasn't a 2 1/2 drive from Toronto. My one and only complaint is the tee markers are terribly marked. They are small rocks with a small lighthouse (their logo) painted the color of the appropriate tee (ie: red, white, blue, black). The problem is they have the painted part facing the fairway and it is not visible from the cart path. More than once we went to the wrong set of tees.
Meticulously maintained fairways and greens. Top notch facility with a great driving range and practice putting green. Course is challenging without getting carried away with terrain and water hazards that make for a frustrating day. The views of Georgian Bay are fantastic! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and there is a nice restaurant and bar to finish up the day in. Snack and beverage cart roams the course so you can refuel during your round of play. The Inn at Cobble Beach provides a great place to stay while you enjoy either a weekend or a week of great golf
