Bring appropriate clothing for winter weather. On the Bruce trail which is great for hiking in the proper conditions
We visited the Inglis Falls today and enjoyed seeing them in Autumn Colours. They are easily accessible from Owen Sound town as they are only 10 mins drive away. They operate based on charitable donations which you give on your way in in. Once you arrive, you can walk to the key viewing areas within 5 mins and take great photos. Definitely worth a stop if visiting this area.
Pretty when all the snow is soft and fluffy. Most of the falls were covered in ice but the area around was nice. It is harder to view the falls in the Winter and extreme caution should be used !!
A great little frozen wonderland. Due to the extremely cold weather, the falls were safe to navigate on foot, but the river below was flowing and was potentially hazardous. A network of tracks down the gorge made for some entertaining exploring.
Beautiful spot, peaceful, clean and historic. Wasn't happy about paid parking, but it's still worth a visit
sounds and scenic view of water falls --- historical informative placards-- easy access and nature trails
You are only aware of falls by hearing the roaring sound of water in the forest while approaching the park. It is hidden deep in the forest. The September fall time was a great time to see the Inglis Falls as the colorful background of multicolor trees made the falls look not only more powerful but also romantic. There is a trail leading down to the falls with few stages where the falls can be observed from different point of view. The area has picnic tables and parking (it was free in September). I recommend good hiking shoes when going down the walking trail as the ground can be slippery, especially the roots that are visible above the surface. Good place for your photography session. You can spend there only 40 min or as much as day with picnic. I can imagine that it is very busy during summer.
I visited Inglis Falls at thanksgiving and I thought the trails were a little bit disappointing. They were short distance and very easy, more for a park than trails.I saw a picnic table in the middle of the fall, not sure why it was there. If you like hiking, I would suggest Indian Falls.Overall good but don't expect much nor leave too much time on your schedule for the visit.
Anytime of year is a good time for water falls but we did a falls colour trip yesterday and the colours along with the beautiful waterfall made it perfect. The paths and trails around the falls provide wonderful viewing areas and enjoy some of the Bruce Trail while you're there!
I have visited these beautiful water falls many times in the last 40 years and they never grow tiresome. An icon in the Owen Sound area. I think you have to pay for parking now....
