My husband and I went recently to see Craig Ferguson during a snowstorm so the theater was pretty empty. The staff is extremely nice and they offer drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks that you can take with you to your seat. There are no bad seats in the place and the seats are very comfortable. Much better than Tarrytown Music Hall seats, although that place is great too!! Will definitely go again.
A wonderfully restored old space with good seating, reasonable prices, plenty of nearby parking and good restaurants/bars. They have a great, if thin, schedule of stuff, ranging from comedy to music and movies. Worth watching the schedule for what you like.
The Paramount Theater is a gem in upper Westchester. Beautiful historical space to see a show. I disagree with another reviewer who found the sound poor in the upper balconey. We went to see Garfunkel with 4 other people and we thought the sound was great.
We love going to shows here - beats going to NYC any day! They have a variety of concerts with 'famous' named musicians. Recently saw Kenny Loggins, Glenn Campbell, The Spinners, The Fab Faux and many more. Our favorite seats are the first three rows of the mezzanine.
The Paramount is a rare find in peekskill, well north of Manhatten. It is an old stage theatre, with beautiful walls and ceiling. It is unexpectedly large with excellent sight lines from anywhere. The entertainment the night we were there was top notch. There is an excellent restaurant around the corner - Hudson - which has live music on Saturdays.
We saw Kenny Loggins at the Paramount last night. The theater is beautiful. He is great and his voice is still beautiful. The problem was that we sat in the balcony, 3rd row. Great spot, good viewing but terrible sound. It all just sounded loud and we could not hear the beautiful 3 part harmonies they were singing. Thought it could be the sound guy, but I don't think they have taken the balcony into account when designing their sound system. I will never sit up there again. Also, they sang for an hour and were done. They did come out for 2 encores, but a 1 hour concert??
Beautiful old theatre. Seats were upstairs second row, right side, great views. Center section was filled but could see just as well to the right or left and had the whole second row to ourselves. Great staff, very friendly, ticket pick up was easy. First visit, I will be back. Beer and wine are available for purchase in the lobby.
Went to Clint Black show Oct 11. Noticed lots of parking in area ( street, lots, and garages). Well- lit neighborhood, felt safe. Picking up tickets was easy and fast. Staff friendly and eager to help. The biggest negative I can think of was the somewhat worn carpet in the lobby. Everything else considered, its very nice theater and an asset to Peekskill!!. Comfy seats and very good acoustics. Please support this theater!! I'll come back again :)
This is one of the old Paramount Theaters that is still around. You can get a perfect view of the stage from almost any seat! They are very comfortable! This is one location where taking pictures of the star performers is not frown upon. The paramount has many of the stars playing here.Lot of great restraunts to visit before or after the performance. Many places to park and if coming from NYC Metro-North has a station in Peekskill. Short taxi ride to Paramount!
We went to a wonderful performance of the Colonial Nutcracker. while the show was amazing, the Theater really stands out. It is a traditional old theater, with amazing sound and beautifully decorated. There was a spot on the ceiling where we were told there was a gaping hole before the place was renovated, but they are still fundraising to restore teh original ceiling. Otherwise, the place is simply great.
