Small casino, but cozy. We never lose very much & sometimes we even come out ahead. The restaurant is above average for casinos. The food is super, huge portions (had to split a sandwich) they are so big. Have never had anything from their menu that wasn't delicious. It's worth stopping in just for the food & their specials. Moderately priced for a casino.
Visited here for a business meeting. The casino was small and the layout was easy to navigate. The Celebrity Bar and Grill was awesome! Had a crab cake/shrimp salad club and my mouth still waters when I think about how good it was.
Describing Hollywood Casino, Perryville as a second-rate casino would be a complement. This establishment is third-rate at best! This is a slot machine parlor disguised as a casino. Plenty of slots. Poker room - 2 tables of 1-2 no limit holdem; players are all older men who play there regularly and know each other very well. Very tight game. Table games are almost non existent. A total of 12 ; 1 roulette, 1 craps and the rest blackjack, 3 card poker, etc. The few times I've been here the table games are mostly empty. And the excitement level is almost zero. The restaurant is a bar-grill type of establishment with average food at prices slightly higher than average prices. There is also a snack bar. If you are a serious slots player or enjoy the excitement of playing craps, blackjack or poker, drive a little further to Horseshoe or Delaware Park.
Likes -- Gaming tables, decent food and Village People slot machines!!Dislikes -- Having to buy drinks while gambling! C'mon!
I visited this casino about 3 years ago for the first time and wasn't overly impressed with it. I found the employees as well as other patrons very rude. I also found their slots to be extremely tight and my first visit turned out to be one of my worst casino trips ever. I lost quite a bit of money on the slots with practically no hits at all. This past weekend my girlfriend and I spent the weekend casino hopping through MD and decided to give this Hollywood another shot. We should have just skipped it.Not much changed over the last 3 years. I have never played so many different slots with absolutely nothing. At one point I went through $200 probably spread out over 10 slot machines without getting a single hit. It was ridiculous. The machines just don't hit. Don't get me wrong...I don't mind losing my money but with the amount of money I take to a casino when I visit I at least expect to have some fun playing and hopefully maybe a few bonuses. Not here. I don't think I have ever lost my money so quickly. Each time 3 years apart was exactly the same visit. This visit we ate at Celebrity Grille. While the food was fine and the prices weren't bad, there were very few choices on the menu. They have an outside smoking area and it is the only place you can smoke. They do offer free soda which is nice and the casino was clean.I again found some of their employees to be rude. When you are sitting there playing a slot and you can hear employees complaining about customers and not even attempting to be quiet really tells me something.Talking to some of the regulars here they said that this casino is always tight and impossible to win at, especially the slots. I then asked them if it is so bad, with now 2 other casinos in MD to choose from, why keep coming back? Nobody really gave me a solid answer to that question, which is what I am sure Hollywood is counting on.For me personally, I do not think I will ever be visiting this casino again.Twice was enough for me. Maryland Live and Horseshoe are much better choices in MD for your gaming dollars.
Win or Lose, the employees and management of this casino is horrible. They have absolutely no respect for patrons. I will never be back to this casino and can recommend for anyone wanting to have a good gambling expierence and want to be treated well, to please consider another Maryland Casino.
My husband and I visited Perryville casino this past weekend. So disappointed, the Grill was really terrible, very small buffet it was awful. The 1 cent machines are a joke, payouts very small for what you have to put in. Machines are very tight, nobody was winning anything. We will not be going back and the one in Heshey was just as bad,but food was a little better. I don,t expect this place to be in business very long.
Small casino. Of course there are plenty of slot games and a few electronic table games. The real table games tend to have a higher minimum play. If you go during the week during the day the minimum is lower. At least it wasn't full of smoke as most casinos are!
We travels annually to this casino. It's small and very nice. We actually left $400 richer this year.
Stopped for a road trip break. We have a Hollywood Casino in Maine so I expected the same friendliness. It was early morning (open 7 days a week/24 hours a day) I saw about four other patrons. We chose our machines. Not two minutes later a manager approached and said they had to change out the box on one of our machines. Huh? No one around... we just got there.... THAT'S the machine you have to change out.... NOW? It was probably about to pay out. Rude and no respect. We left and will not be back.
