My daughter (5 years old) had a blast at the camp! She wants to back again! She can't stop raving about the trail ride and brushing her pony. She learned a lot about caring for the goats, bunnies and chicks.
This place was great my son had an awsome time. He got to chase chicks and pet bunnies and meet pony's best of all he slept real good that night!! So impressed with how patience the girls were with my son he can be quite rambunctious at times!!! I was sceptical after reading some of the reviews. Once We got There it was fine just seemed like a normal farm to us. I think some folks have never been to a farm so they don'tKnow what to expect. A little dirt won't hurt ya!! If you don't want to get dirty don't go to a farm!! In any case I'm sure glad we went can't wait to go back!!!
I can't believe the criticisms of this place. this place has been in business for over 25 years. It is a "farm" behind the owner's house and farm animals are not clean by nature. Cindy, the owner, is a very straight-forward type of person. There is plenty of hand sanitizer and there are sinks in the barn and bathroom. The place is clean and there are no sick animals. I have seen no other place in Philadelphia where the children get such a hands on experience with the animals and they have a great summer camp. It is truly a special experience. Do not bring your children if you do not think they are old enough to understand sanitation.
We had our grandson's birthday party at Sandy Hill Farm and it was great! The kids were so excited to see the animals. Lunch was served in the nicely decorated barn. In two hours the kids brushed the ponies, feed the other animals, held the bunnies and went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch. You had to see their little faces as they enjoyed their day. The grown ups enjoyed themselves as well. Cindy and her daighter Jackie were very attentiver all day long. I would encourage everyone who has a small child to plan their next birthday party at Sandy Hill Farm. My daughter in law loved it sooo much she wants to have my grandson's party there next year too.
I went to a birthday party at Sandy Hill Farm and it was the best party my children have ever been invited to. The children had so much fun with the animals and the parents were able to enjoy themselves. The food was in the barn which was decorated nicely. I asked to wash my hands and was directed to the bathroom which was in good shape. I love this place and wish I found it earlier. I can't wait to send my 2 kids to summer camp this year. SANDY HILL FARM IS A MUST FOR ALL FAMILIES!!!!
The place is pretty dirty and there isn't much of an emphasis on hand washing. I have a three year old who was in the camp for a week and in between chasing chickens, and sometimes catching them, he sticks his hands in his mouth as three year olds are want to do.I'm just thankful he didn't pick up some e-coli bug. It's too bad, because with a little more emphasis on basic cleanliness (the fridge where they keep the lunches is filthy and filled with animal food, there's animal feces on the ground where the kids play) it would be okay. The owner is unfriendly and doesn't seem to care much about the condition of the farm or the kids. The younger counselors she hired were nice.
We held our daughter’s 4th birthday party at Sandy Hill and it was wonderful. The kids all had a fantastic time and the parents were raving about the party. The hayride to the pumpkin patch was a hit. Cindy and Jackie are easy to work with and made everything run smoothly. Sandy Hill is a great, layback oasis close to the city. I would gladly recommend their party (or trail rides).
We went to Barnyard Fun at Sandy Hill. My 4 year old daughter got to pet and hold baby bunnies, chickens and goats. We learned a lot about ponies and she took a pony ride and got to steer with Jackie leading her. Jackie and Cindy were great and very laid back. My daughter fit right in and made herself at home. This is a farm so wear your play clothes and older shoes! Remind your children to wash their hands and watch where they step. My daughter is going back for camp and is super excited!
This place has beautiful fields of fresh flowers that you are invited to cut yourself. I chose the all-you-can-fit in a mason jar deal and made out like a bandit for far less than a florist or a grocery store selection.
My kids had an excellent time at Pony camp this summer. They enjoyed the hayride, grooming horses, riding horses, and petting animals. Would recommended this camp experience.
