We spent half a day here as a large group and rented the pavilion. Other than the weather it was a great experience. The facilities were very nice and the Park itself looks great. The day prior it rained all day so the kid areas with slides and swings were flooded. This meant the kids had to find other things to do but everyone still had a good time. The staff that was working were really nice. We would like to go back on a warmer not so flooded day. We saw people playing frisbee golf and people running/walking. Other people were taking pictures, and I heard people telling us about the several miles of bike trails you can go out and experience. It looks like a great place to take kids to go fishing. Lots of places to park. We don't have pet but dog rules are upsetting to dog owners. There are only certain areas leashed dogs can go. I would just call and check before taking your dog.
We just moved to Pooler, and were excited to see a city had a park with a doggy area. We pulled into the park with out Scottie to be greated by "no dogs allowed" and "dogs only in dog exercise area." After 45 min of searching for the dog exercise area, we never found it. If there is a dog area, it is exteamly hard to find. As for the rest of the park, there is not a dog friendly inch of it. Huge let down for these Dog parents.
This park has something for everyone. There is a walking path around the lake, you can do the whole thing or there is a bridge to do half. They have disc golf course, bike trails through the woods, playground, lake/pond you can fish or kayak in, feed the ducks, ride bikes, tennis courts, picnic tables, exercise classes. It's a really nice park that is kept up well. They have areas that you can rent for a fee. We love to go here to spend some good active family time.TIP: Be careful at night/early morning. It's a bit secluded, don't go alone and be aware of your surroundings.
Unfortunately we only had 15-20 minutes to enjoy this park before continuing north on I-95, but what a great stop. My wife walked the wonderful walkway around the park, while I played holes #16, #17, and #18 of the disc golf. I did follow my wife part way and saw how beautiful the park is once you get a little ways back in. The disc golf course is good and challenging. I can't wait to go back sometime. In the playground area, I overheard some parents telling their children it was time to go. Both kids said, "We don't want to go!"
The park was beautiful. We rented pavilion 1 and the center. The center was much smaller than expected but it worked for us. There was a track, shaded playground and duck pond. We really enjoyed this park.
The park is easily accessible from I95 exit 102. There are bike and walking trails, a lake and tennis to mention a few. The draw for me is the disc golf. We live in Bluffton and there are only two decent disc golf courses nearby and this is one of them. A challenging and fun course for all disc golfers. You have to be mindful of the walkers and runners on a few holes but otherwise its fun.
Been here several times to hike and ride bikes. If you want a quick walk around the lake, it is enjoyable. You can take a longer hike and go on the trails that spread out over a large area. Picnic tables and bathrooms.
I live fairly close to this park so I have been here many times. My kids and I enjoy feeding the ducks. We often take our chihuahua with us because we like taking her on family outings and Tom Triplett is pet friendly and has a dog walking area. We always keep our dog in a carrier until we get to the dog area and then put her back in the carrier when we leave. My only issue is that if we want to stop anywhere other than the pet area - the duck pond or picnic table area - the staff swoops down on us and tells us the dog can't be there. I totally understand that for safety and sanitation reasons they want the dogs confined to the dog areas. If I had a dog on a leash, I would completely understand this. But from her zipped shut carrier, my chihuahua can neither bite someone, nor use the bathroom. In fact, if they hadn't been watching us put her in the carrier in the pet area they would likely never even realize that we had a dog with us because my carrier looks just like a purse (a benefit of having a 5 lb dog) and she never makes any noise when she is in it. The ducks don't even have a problem with her. I just feel like maybe the staff could lighten up a little bit. We have stopped visiting this park and now choose to go down to Gregory Park in Richmond Hill but it would be nice to have Tom Triplett as a place to enjoy family outings (with our four legged family member) since it is so close.
Tom Triplett park is a little off the beaten path, a few miles from the Pooler exit of I-95, but if you're a family looking for a neat location to stretch your legs, maybe feed some ducks/geese, or play frisbee golf, this is the place to do it! There is a playground with swing sets, bike/running trails, frisbee golf course, and giant pond where you can enjoy the breeze, feed geese/ducks, and even fish. If you desire to feed the ducks stop at the Day-Old-Bread store a block away and buy yourself a "duck bread" bag for a dollar. Great location, clean park, and beautiful setting. You won't be disappointed.
Very serene place to relax and have fun with your family and friends, or just sit and read a book. There is also a wonderful frisbee-golf course there!
