Offering some of the best views in town this is the hill not to be missed. You can see all surrounding hills from the top, minaret spires rising splendidly!
I always enjoy going to see this while in Plovdiv. Beautiful view of the city. I like historical things like this. Area is relaxing.
You can have a nice walk through the Old Town of Plovdiv to reach the top of one of the three hills it is biult upon. There are the ruins of the oldest settlements but quite unmaintained and unexplained for tourists. The view of the city is amazing and you can have a rest in 'Rahat Tepe' pub nearby.
You need to use you imagination, bring a guide book or come on an organised tour because there were no interpretive materials at the site at all. You can walk, crawl, climb all over the ruins and take in the amazing views over the city and surrounding area. There were attempts to remove graffiti (Plovdiv is FULL of it!) from the old stones and some scrub was being cleared, but apart from that the site felt quite neglected.
This place is a must, if you want to see Plovdiv from above! The way up there goes up through the Old Town, but once you're there, it's really worth it. I only found it a pity that it's not very clear what those ruins served for. But the view is really unforgettable!
Highly recommend Excellent place for relaxing and Defiantly recommend Ancient theater and the perfect view from Nebet tepe. But need of some cleaning indeed :(
Plovdiv has managed to piece together an exceptional amphitheatre with back wall and statues. Worth a visit at the low cost of entry. Open till late, even on Sundays.
This hill is thecenter of the second oldest European city /12 c.B.C./ and the oldest still living European town. Remains of so called "ciklop walls" are still visible.....
One of the good view points over the city. The place definitely needs a clean up and some renovation, but the view is worth the steep accent.
It's ok when you're very tired.) The food is quite plain and the choice is limited. Some meat, french fries, shopska salad + ayran, beer and something else. However, we lived not far away so we came there 2 or 3 times.A lot of cat beggars.
