It's about a 2 hour drive from where I live in the SW area of Vegas. You have 2 gas stations on the way once you leave city limits and they're both 40 miles apart. So make sure you have a full tank of gas. The drive was pretty, the little ones didn't seem to mind. You hit the alien museum first, small but interesting. The Extraterrestial Hwy signs are completely covered with stickers so terrible for a photo op. We went as far as Rachel, NV where you have the Little Al'E Inn. They have a time capsule built in 1996 not to be opened til 2050. And the Inn is quite small but if you wanna grab a quick bite to eat a cheeseburger will cost you $7.99
If you are there to see little green or gray aliens or gov't secret facilities, you'll be disappointed. If you are there for the scenic beauty of the deserts varied terrain or to do the epic Geocaching mega trail, it's great and well worth the trip! We had a blast!
I finally got to see this sign for real. Took pictures. It is so worth the drive for this. The drive was great we arrived in Rachel during Sunset it was beautiful. Saw quite a few people on the road and actually we stopped and there were two other cars there. I recommend seeing this for yourself it's just one of those odd things.
We finally got to see this sign for real! Took pictures. It is worth the drive. It’s about 2hours drive from Las Vegas. There are two gas stations on the way once you leave the Vegas. We pass by the Alien Museum first but it was closed at that time. The next stop was the “Extraterrestrial Highway” sign, it is so cool, had some pictures taken and then drove to Rachel, Nevada. Rachel is a tiny town in Nevada, and said to be the UFO capital of the world. The highway gets its name from several legends surrounding the area, such as mysterious lights appearing in the night sly, as well as myths surrounding the mysterious Area 51. Little A’Le Inn is not only an Inn, but also a restaurant, bar and gift shop. You can look at photos aliens and flying saucers they have collected and documented for years. There is also a flying saucer, alien parking and funny signs in the parking area. The building was built as a dedication to Alien and UFO research, because to its close proximity to Area 51.We drove 10 miles on a dirt road to the back gate of Area 51, just took a picture of the gate and return back to Vegas. The lady from the Little A’le Inn Restaurant warned us not to extend any of our body parts (not even hug a pole) into the property line of Area 51, or else we will be fine $630 each person. Some people might rate this place as poor, as there is nothing to see there except the Inn & Restaurant, some mobile homes and cattle . It’s the journey, the beauty of nature around it, to know the history of the place and the EXPERIENCE of being there.
A dream come true. I always wanted to see it by myself and I enjoyed every minute of my trip. Worth the trip. I recommend it.
Need to travel this highway to Area 51 and The Little' ale' Inn. Some of the most beautiful mountainous views we've seen!!
A very very long road with 'another planet' scenery. Don't drive at night as you'll probably hit a large animal on the road as cows wander freely and lie on the road for warmth. Drive down the middle of the road if you drive at night and go slowly.
There are miles and miles of nothing. If you are lucky, there may be cows to look at. Be careful as they cross the road on a whim. This is open-range here!
Miles and miles of open highway to ride on, and the view is interesting. Only negative is the lack of gas stations.
The 375 sign is covered with stickers at the eastern 375 highway entrance. There is another sign on 375 westbound near Rachel that did not have stickers when we were there s couple years ago.
