wander aimlessly as you explore acres of gambling temptations.try your luck, who knows?you may go home a winner.ill put my money on the house.
Our daughter surprised us with tickets to see Jeff Dunham last night. We were sat in section M just near the top, but every seat is a good seat. They use two large TVs for better viewing if the stage is too far away. Jeff was brilliant, it was an hour and 40 minutes of laughing!!!!Although for us it was over a 2 hour drive, it was well worth it...and I would go again in a heartbeat. It's worth every cent!!!The casino is big and bright and it was packed although not over crowded. If you sign up for the passports, they give you and automatic $10.00 to use in the slots. You do have u til midnight to use it. The process just takes a few minutes, they require your email address for future concerts and up coming events. No big deal. Since I'm not a gambler, it was perfect..I'd rather use their money then mine.Have fun!!!!
My wife and I bought tickets to the Styx concert and thought we would spend the day at Casino Rama and we really enjoyed ourselves. We booked a local hotel and drove across the street to the Casino and spent a number of hours playing the penny slots and 'people watching' It was fun. The Casino itself is a beautiful place with numerous restaurants and bars and shops. We ate at Cedar in the Casino and it was very good. The concert was absolutely excellent. We had 12th row centre floor seats and had a great time. The staff organized the entry to the concert venue very well and were friendly and accommodating.
We eat at the Yard House restaurant at Rama. I was going to have the Weiner Schnitzel then I noticed it was Pork? The Chef needs to do his research. The traditional dish of Austria is made from Veal not Pork or Chicken or Beef. If you do not use Veal then it is merely Schnitzel (means flattened, breaded and fried meat). Weiner is the Austrian word for Veal, so if it is Pork, then you have to call it Pork Schnitzel.
Having been to quite a few different casinos in my time I am pretty confident in saying that Casino Rama has the tightest slots I have encountered thus far. The facilities themselves are rather nice and clean, but the casino floor itself can feel a little cramped. For some reason there are certain rows of slots that have the chairs bolted to the floor which really wouldn't be such a bad thing if the isles were bigger but guess what? They aren't. If someone is walking towards you it's best to just wait for them to clear the isle or else you will have the inevitable awkward chest on chest brush with a total stranger. No thank you! I'd recommend saving your money and playing some table games (though the minimums can be high and tables are PACKED), or at least video poker. The penny slots, though appetizing with their bright blinking lights and whispers of sweet nothings, are certainly not worth it and will undoubtedly suck your money away albeit slowly if you are lucky ("lucky") enough to find one that pays out just enough to keep you hooked.Couchiching Court Buffet is really hit or miss and to be quite honest, if we didn't get food comps we wouldn't bother. The past few times have been good, but other than that we have been severely underwhelmed. It is what it is I suppose. For free it's decent but you may want to check the buffet first before paying for it. And do NOT go close to closing time! Same rule applies to all buffets I suppose ;) Honestly, I'd recommend the Yard House. Great food and friendly staff.
Watching commercials about visiting Casino Rama shows excitement, laughterand joy. However, being there is anything but!!!! We were at Rama for about an hour having a few laughs when we were approached by staff asking us ask how many drinks we've had. We said we'd just arrived had a drink and just enjoying ourselfs. Quite honestly we thought she was kidding. She then proceeded to ask two of us to leave the casino! Again shocked! The security guard watching all is this, ask that we go for an hour and then come back. He said he doesn't see impairment but has to follow her instructions. So two 50 plus year old ladies were kicked out for having laughs!!!!!It was embarrassing and unnessary. So Casino Rama commercials should be "Don't laugh! Don't enjoy yourself" Or you'll be ask to leave!
Clean, neat and very pleasant. Shows are wonderful. Everyone at the casino was pleasant and accommodating.
The casino was as expected.. but The Yardhouse Restaurant was terrible! I have no idea how an establishment such as Casino Rama can serve such terrible and inedible food. The nachos instead of cheddar cheese, had that yellow cheese sauce poured all over them .. the salmon was so over cooked, that I had a terrible time trying to get my fork to cut into the piece.. the rice was so dry and tasteless that in order for me to eat a piece of it, I had to crack the rice as if it were a chocolate bar! Nope, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Went to last night's Jefferson Starship concert at Rama after having attended previous concerts that were second to none. In the future advertising people at the casino do not list songs on your advertising that the band has absolutely no intention of playing. Before listing hits from Starship in your advertising for this concert you should have actually checked with the band that they could actually play them. Also, was the sound guy sick ? And the back up sound guy ? And the back up to the back up sound guy ? For the first song there was 0 vocals even though from the screens members were trying to sing. They started getting the vocals for the female lead for the second song but I don't think they actually got all of the vocals set right for all musicians 1/3 of the way into the concert. Probably one of the worst concerts I have attended and have been to well over 100 live shows. Giving it an extra star just on their performance of White Rabbit. Casino itself would rate 5 stars as would most shows.
I love to stay overnight here but I do wish they would have some specials for the general public...even if you don't gamble a ton. I never win here ~ ever ~ but I do enjoy their pool and steam room quite a bit. However, don't plan on having more than one drink an hour as they moniter your drinks like hawks with those eye in the sky cameras. Also, they recently jacked up their buffet prices which really sucks. Super nice spacious rooms though.
