We went and saw a movie in the afternoon and had a great experience. The service was good, the seating was comfortable, the food was tasty and there is a great selection of beer.
Book your tickets in advance to take advantage of the assigned seating.Arrive early to watch the custom preshows that they make for the big movies. Food and drinks are great and reasonabley priced. Weve been to two Alamo locations and always have a blast.
Not what I expected. Alamo is a food and movie concept that really works. The atmosphere is like a old downtown theater from when i was young. Dark, good seats, table service, a mostly snack menu with beer and wine. They specialize in old period movies and its great watching them on the big screen. We will be back, they also have a nice sports type bar that is very comfortable.
Alamo Drafthouse. Several reasons I see it as the quintessential move-going experience. First, they have the major current movies showing, but they also consistently show old movies, classics, having sing/quote-alongs, and have comedy events where comedians make fun of certain movies. Furthermore, during certain premieres, Alamo goes the extra mile with decoration, photo-opps, etc. Showing up early is a treat as they will have various related cartoons, videos, and old commercials playing. Their food selections and quality are impressive for an in-theater experience. Adult-milkshakes are excellent, and they even serve a local coffee brew. Excellent.
You have to go to Alamo Drafthouse. Even if you've been to studio movie grill or somewhere else and you didn't like it.... this is WAY better. I've been going to the Austin locations for years, so I was really excited to see one pop up near me in Richardson. It is a whole different experience. The menu selection is huge, and the food is actually very tasty and fresh. The drinks are great too. And they have it set up so that there is no talking and nobody walking in front of you constantly. They have perfected the concept of dinner and a movie.
This place is so friendly, good movies, great bar, and food is pretty good for a movie place. We have been several times and have enjoyed each moment.
Food served to you while watching a movie...what more can one ask for. They also have a no cell phone policy which is nice. Movie for two, medium sized pizza, pitcher of beer and chips w/ queso...came to about 60 dollars.
This was our first visit. There were 4 adults and 1 child (age 3). I reserved my tickets online for the noon showing of penguins of Madagascar. Once we arrived at the theater, we were greeted immediately and received our tickets. The girl did a quick overview of how it worked and the rules. Once in the theater, which was very clean, our awesome waitress greeted us and showed us the ordering process. All the food we ordered was great, slightly pricey- but that is expected when going to the movies. Our food came quickly, drinks refilled when requested and ticket arrived before the credits. I look forward to returning on a date night, as I love the idea of kid free movies in the evening :)
What a great way to watch a movie. It was the 30th anniversary of Ghost Busters and the place was sold out. They played commercials from the 80's that were hilarious. Write down your drink and food order and they pick up the card and deliver it very quickly. Great fun!
Not many places serve this quality food in a movie theater. The folks at Alamo definitely do a great job with the food. But that is not the best part. Take a look at their beer selection and you will be blown.
