Lots of fun. Courteous employees! They could use some more newer slot machines but we had a great time! Air quality was fine and they have a "no smoking" side of the casino! Definitely will go back!
We just love Riverside. It is so clean you almost feel like you can eat off the floor. Everyone is so nice. The food is great and rooms are clean and comfortable. Gaming was fun too. It is ourfavorite place to come and cannot wait until we can come again.
Beware of the Craps tables! They make their own rules as they go. On 8/24/14 after playing craps the night before and about an hour that morning, I was told by "Darren" that I must throw the dice within 3 seconds after touching them. When I complained, I was then ask to step away from the table. I was not paid the money I had wagered on the table! I made a verbal complaint to casino management. I have filed a complaint with the Iowa Gaming Commission and the Attorney Generals office. However, the buffet was decent and the Blackjack tables were pretty much typical of any other casino.
Larry & I met friends for drinks and to listen to "Rare Earth" play music. I indulged in a wonderfully flavored Frozen Strawberry Margarita. It was lacking in Tequila, but that's the way I like them. Rather noisy for conversation, but we enjoyed our time there. We usually eat dinner at the buffet restaurant, but not this trip. It is a bit pricey, but good food.
We visit Riverside every June for our anniversaries and love the pool, hot tub and hotel, after playing Blue Top Ridge golf course. this place is relaxing, fun and laid back.
I won a free night's stay at the hotel through a library contest. It was our anniversary so I called ahead and had cheese and crackers delivered to the room, with some chocolate covered strawberries--they were in the room when we arrived and were a nice surprise for my fiancé! The beds are comfy, and spa is very nice and the service is attentive. Nice little gem in the middle of Iowa!
Not much of a gambler but it seems to be a popular place. Also this casino does ALOT for the Veterans. There are donation jars to donate to veterans, "chip in for vets" I think it is called.I always hit the buffet and play with my free money on my birthday. Live music in the lounge on weekends and they have an Event center for Concerts. Also A PGA golf course which is really nice and where I spend most of my time.
Easy road trip, friendly staff ,we won enough to keep us in business, gorgeous pools and really challenging golf (when I made contact w my ball)
Thank you for your review. Our gaming floor has a very large non-smoking section, covering about half of the entire gaming area. While we cannot ensure a smoke-free environment in our casino, we have taken steps in designing our property's ventilation system with our guests' comfort in mind. The system brings in 100% outside air at all times and air is conditioned, heated or dehumidified as needed and then sent under the gaming floor to enter the casino through openings in the slot bases. The air returns are located at the ceiling level and are located on the sides and in the middle of the ceiling. Sincerely,Dan Franz, General Manager
Thank you for your review and your positive comments about our facility and staff. I am sorry that you did not find the buffet to your liking. We do have a few other dining choices for you to experience, including Ripple Diner (salads, burgers, sandwiches, all-day breakfast and more), Ruthie’s Steak & Seafood (our high end steakhouse) and Ripple Express (a 24-hour grab and go with coffee, ice cream, pastries, sandwiches and more). Hope to see you back here soon. Dan Franz, General Manager
