My family comes here once a year to walk through this enormous corn maze. We walked in at around 5:30 and decided to do the challenging maze. This meant that we needed to collect every piece of the puzzle. By 6:30 we pulled out the flashlights because it became dark. It took us 1:45 minutes to go through the entire maze and collecting every piece. We love to do this as a family. We laugh, we fight, we debate and also work together to get out quickly. It's so much fun.
We went here on a vacation to Lancaster and my kids had a blast. We probably would have enjoyed it a bit more had it not been so hot, but that not's the farm's fault. They had huge misting fans setup to help people cool off, I kind of wish they had more of them setup. They have multiple corn mazes for different levels of difficulty, we did the easiest version (where you can't get lost) and my kids enjoyed it. They especially enjoyed the surprises within the maze for kids to play. Some of my kids are animal lovers and loved feeding the goats and handling the baby chicks. The upper part of the farm, the 'Barnyard' has a lot of activities also. My 4 y/o was disappointed he couldn't go down the slide by himself. All my kids loved the open bounce pillow also.We would definitely go back in future trips to Lancaster.
We have visited Cherry Crest 7 times within the last 10 years to experience the maze. It is definitely a lot of "work" if you want to get every clue but it's also a lot of fun. The kids love it and doing the maze has become a Columbus Day weekend family tradition. Now that the kids are older (11 and 17) we did the maze at night. There are also lots of things to do if you have younger kids. The farm is a great day out.
We had a great time at this farm and our two young boys had a blast for hours. They loved the barnyard. They got the opportunity to hold baby chickens and walk around with the animals. The area was well maintained and clean as was the rest of the farm. We enjoyed the tractor ride around the farm and all the other fun activities for children. We played football, baseball, basketball, went down long slides, and did the kiddie corn maze. The kids were entertained for hours and we had to drag them away. We also thought the admission was reasonably priced. They had a good variety of food offerings as well. We will be back next year.
I am a homeschool mom to a 10, 8, 5, and 2 1/2 yr olds. decided to take them there for a field trip. while we all enjoyed it when we got to the air swings I sat on one with my 2 yr old pushed my self alittle and the the swing chain broke outta the wood . i landed flat on my butt from 2 1/2-3 ft in the air. when i told the lady all she said is "sorry". Just went back to Cherry Crest Farm ... as always it is the best outdoor family friendly attraction! My kids just love the Barn Yard (filled with all sorts of old fashioned family farm activities)! We easily could spend 3 hours on just the Barn Yard part. The Barn Yard closes at 5 pm (I think). We like doing the maze at night time. Although if you do the maze during the day it too is so much fun.I am amazed with the friendliness of the the entire staff. You can tell that the owners take pride in their attraction as well as with their staff. All of the staff that we encountered were so happy, helpful and friendly! We especially enjoyed talking with Tori (at the go carts) and Alex (at the sling shot). The entire attraction is also so, so clean ... and it is outside! The food that they have for purchase is also very good and is very reasonably priced. Please wear old clothes so you can have fun! They also take credit card. Bring a camera as there are so many photos that you will want to get.Kuddos to Cherry Crest Farm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I think my title said it all..as it is all that and more. The staff who work here are very friendly, and are easy to find (meaning, don't have to look far to find an employee). We had always seen the farm on our Strasburg Railroad trips and glad we finally made the visit.Check out the website, you'll see something for all ages. We spent at least 5-6 hours there..ending with the corn maze at night. We took the easier route, and my children loved the food oasis in the center.Donuts..donuts..you have to try their homemade donuts, delicious! My children keep asking when we can return; they'll open back up in May!
Commercialized, but educational trip to the farm. Kids will learn plenty about life on the farm. Wagon rides, tractor rides, games, etc. One entrance fee covers everyone for the most part. Ice cream was a hit. It was hard to leave!
I love the mazes at this farm. They are super challenging with a lot of interactive activities inside the maze. The other farm activities are also fun, especially the corn shot and slides. We went the first week they opened this summer. It was a beautiful day with prefect weather and not very busy at all. My daughter was stung by a hornet in the maze but the staff was super helpful and quickly took care of things. It is a great value for some wholesome outdoor family fun and the food prices are reasonable too. It is voted one of the best places for kids in sport illustrated for kids for a reason.
Lots of activities to make the entire family happy -- very well thought out and managed -- safe, with a friendly and helpful staff.
