I have been visiting the winery for over 20 years and love it. The tasting is great for just a few dollars. They have a cute gift shop with jellies and FABULOUS breads, and misc. wine accessories. Most of the wines are great, and the atmosphere is beautiful. They also have a B& B that looks great. Wine making tours are given regularly.
They are very kind to contribute to charitable causes. Wine samples available to taste. Cheerful staff.
We went on a Wed. and they were steady but not busy. The people were very nice and the wine was very good. We were actually here tasting and checking out the shop for quite awhile. The gift shop is fun and we are planning to return because it appears they have very nice accommodations and when you stay there, I've been told; the wine flows! I must find out!
The award winning Lynfred Winery in Roselle produces over 80 types of wine a year using only grapes and fruit that are crushed on the premises. The tour, with a knowledgeable guide, samples four different types of wine and a dessert wine. They also have a wine tasting without the tour and small batch wine offered only to their monthly club members.Great venue for a wedding, shower, birthday party plus a bed and breakfast on the site. Gift shop offers a wide variety of items including chocolate dipped wine bottles!
We have been members of the wine club here for 5, or so, years now. We have been to MANY tastings here as well. While we are not wine snobs, we can appreciate a quality wine. I can't say that ANY experience, be it a tasting, picking up our wine, or our night in the French Room B&B, has been anything less than fantastic. Their servers are knowledgeable and happy to pour a generous glass. We will keep returning with smiles on our faces.
A nice setting for a glass of wine and cheese tray in the middle of town. A bit overpriced - a bit trendy - gets crowded - but there is little around to compare it too. Does have nice outdoor seating, and good choices.
I was disappointed with the Epicurean experience but pleasantly pleased by the wine. The staff was a nice, but a little snotty at the tasting bar. At the experience, the chef seemed disinterested in telling us about the food. He read what was on the menu then booked it out of the room. The hostess said very little about the wine, but she was nice. I did not feel it was worth the money my friends and I paid, but appreciated the beautiful location and great wine! Will be back but will not pay extra for any if their "experiences." You pay to sit in a room to talk vs. talking in their tasting area!
Wine tasting was okay. Tasting was a little more expensive than most wineries we visit. The layout for wine tasting (having to go to a small area for 6 samples--and try to negotiate your way around others, and then go to the "desk" for the last sample) was awkward and made the experience less enjoyable. Staff were very nice to our children, ages 8 and 9.We would have liked a wine-tasting experience that felt a bit more relaxing.
I have been to Lynfred Winery many times and it has always been a pleasant experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the wines are absolutely delicious. When tasting, if there is a wine you truly don't like, the staff is more than accommodating to ensure that you are completely satisfied.
A trip to Lynfred always includes great wine, good ideas for food pairing and a bit of history including culture and environment. People are informative and very helpful, but never pushy. Your trips there can be short and sweet or hours long. A very nice treat in your day!
