Went and saw night at the Museum 3. Had the Luna and a double pepperoni pizza. Nice seating. Tiered nice so everyone gets a great view.
It's a micro-brew and restaurant combined with a movie theatre, and it's almost great. They are still working out the kinks, but it's clear that someone is trying hard to make this a special experience. They seem to have created their own pre-trailers that are humorous music videos that play before the previews start, and they're very well done. But, they have to fix the smell in the hallways - phew! The service lights and the scurrying service people take away from the movie a bit, but the food and beer is pretty good.
There is nothing special about Flix Brewhouse. Alamo has much better food and ambiance, Moviehouse and Eatery on 620 has much better seats. Save your pennies and go to another theater.
This theater has a full bar and it's own microbrewery. We saw a first run movie for a good price while having good food and a fresh beer. Fantastic. The menu is much larger than expected - it's nearly a full restaurant menu. Beside their many microbrews there are dozens of other beers and drinks available in the lobby or served to your seat. Theater is very well designed - best dinner/movie setup that I have seen. Order from your seat, and the nice wide tables slide out to be close enough to your big comfortable chairs with plenty of space between rows and elevation to see over the other seats. The picture and sound quality were excellent. I truly wish we had a place like this where I live - I would go every week.
Went for the first and probably last time. I'm a frequent Studio Movie Grill & Alamo Drafthouse patron. This pales in comparison. My movie started at 6:30. I pressed my button to place my order at 6:15. I don't remember when my order finally got taken, but I do know when my order....well at least some of my order....showed up. At 7:49 my food finally showed up. One Hour and 19 minutes for a burger and mac & cheese. Really??!! Reordered my water which didn't show up the first time. Forget a free refill policy....cause they'll never make it back to you. What's the point. I didn't even enjoy my food because I wasn't sure how long the movie was and just scarfed it down so that I didn't run out of time. Really a bad experience.
I've given Flix a lot of chances over the period of time they've been open and I have seen improvement. The food is getting better, especially the non-burger, non-pizza selections. The wait staff is improving too, though they still have trouble understanding that, when eating in the dark, napkins - lots of napkins - are a necessity. But the one place Flix sucks is in their presentation of 3D movies. I don't know if I have been consistently unlucky and wound up catching the tail of old projection bulbs (possible, but not likely) or if Flix's management thinks nobody notices that they have the brightness dialed down to extend bulb life. It doesn't matter. I have no complaints about their regular 2D movies, but Flix's 3D is invariably mudddy, dark and headache inducing.
Nice lobby brew house, good menu, nice seating and screen views, staff a bit noisy during during the movie.
love fix cause its pretty close to the house and they have really comfy seats. The food is pretty s-hitty for you so I don't eat it but my dad likes all their beer and wine selection. When you talk about getting served beer in your seat during a movie, it thats your cup of "tea" then this theatre is probably for you.
Decided to take the family to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and was denied access because my youngest is 4. Stated that it was not up to us that as the parents we were not allowed to take the 4 year old into a pg13 movie. Good food, decent price but not a place for the family. Good thing there is plenty of choice in the area as I will not be supporting an establishment that does not support its local families.
Really enjoyed the Flix experience. I cannot believe how eating, drinking and table service is not a distraction when watching a film, but it wasn't. The wait staff are like elves, magically appearing and disappearing. Chairs were very comfy, screen and sound were awesome. Everything was very clean, but the carpet near the restrooms needs a serious cleaning, smells like stinky feet! I wish there was a franchise here in NY!
