Last month was our second time at Kachina Mineral Springs Spa in 10 years. We went out of our way, to go here again, when driving through eastern Arizona. We had the "Couples Plus" treatment with a 90 minute massage, reflexology and heat wrap. It lasted from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and was a bargain at $145.00 compared to "urban spa" prices. Both our masseuses were older women with decades of massage experience. The combination of the mineral baths and massages were fabulous!
If you're up for a special treat, go to Kachina Mineral Springs for a Lomi-Lomi massage. You'll start with a ten minute soak in one of their hot mineral springs (which operate on a flow-through basis so that no chlorine is needed). Then, you'll be massaged by four hands for one hour. This is much more relaxing than a two-hour massage because your body and mind are more easily able to let go of all stress. Hawaiian music will be playing during the massage. Your treatment will conclude with another soak in the hot mineral springs for as long as you wish. While I thoroughly enjoyed the Lomi-Lomi, a word of caution is in order: In order for each of the therapists need to have access to a portion of your body at the same time, only minimal draping is used. So, your private areas will always be covered, but the rest is mostly always exposed (the room is kept toasty warm for this reason). If you're comfortable with that, then treat yourself to this unique experience; you'll be glad you did.
Worth the two hour drive from Tucson. Experienced the full package which lasted approximately 2 hours. My massage was expertly delivered by Lee who applied a medium to deep pressure. Probably one of the best massages I've ever had! While the facility isn't fancy...the experience was well worth more than what we were charged. Definitely will plan a return visit!
The combination of the talented massage therapists and the mineral bath make it the best. Its definifely not fancy, but worth the drive to Safford!
Very professional staff, comfortable setting. Not a beauty spa but a real place to let life come to a quiet pace. Two hours complete with natural mineral tub, reflexology, hot wrap and one hour massage. Hot tub drained and cleaned between visitors. Easy drive from Tucson, great day trip.
Kachina Mineral Springs Spa is the best reason to stop in Safford. My Wife and I have been there every time we’ve been in Safford (six). The massage therapists are very professional yet personal, communicate well, while adapting to our changing needs. The soak in our private tub relaxed us before our massages and again afterwards. My Wife recently underwent a major operation. Her Doctor cautioned her regarding massage and Page knew exactly the correct methods and areas to avoid. Stella and Mary worked on me at my last two sessions. Although their massage methods are different, they communicated with me as needed to make sure I received the best treatment. The owner, Nancy, has been flexible with our changing schedules, while providing the clean relaxing atmosphere for us to benefit from the great treatments. Her passion and dedication is readily apparent in our peace and tranquility when we leave. We have been to Spas and received massages from professionals in California and Hawaii, but Kachina Mineral Springs Spa is the best place we’ve ever been and well worth the drive from Phoenix or Tucson. Thanks to everyone there for providing us with a purpose to spend more time in Safford.
What an amazing experience we had at the Kachina Mineral Springs Spa! We decided to spend our Valentines weekend in Safford and enjoyed an experience we will never forget. We booked a couples tub with side by side massage and were treated like royalty. The staff is so professional and the environment is clean and healing. I can not say enough about the way soaking in the water made us feel, it truly is something you must experience yourself. The owners of the property have put their hearts and love into every detail and you can tell! Thank you~ We will definitely be back!
Although Kachina Springs is a good drive from Tucson, it is very well worth the trip. It is a good idea to book ahead for your session.Nothing to look at from the road, but don't be put off. The facilities are basic, but clean, and the staff very friendly. First, you are invited into your own private hot tub - 105 degrees and wonderful. Then, after a good warmup and soak, you are led to the massage table, where you are seriously worked over. I had a wonderful massage from Nia. Highly recommended. After the massage, you are led back to the hot tub - and then back to the massage table where you are wrapped for a really good sweat. Along with all this, Nia does great reflexology on your feet . You feel as if you are melting. Then a third dip in the hot tub, and if you have the strength, a gentle drive home to Tucson. We timed it so we were driving into the sunset over the desert - truly a wonderful experience. Note: the hot tubs and emptied, cleaned, and refilled after each client, so no fear of nasty germs.
I've been visiting Kachina Spa off and on for around six or seven years. My most recent trip was a few weeks ago. I would definitely recommend going for one or more of their services while there. The pools are lovely. They're all in private rooms, all tiled and extremely clean. The water is healing, relaxing and an overall awesome experience in itself. Choosing any massage option is great, their folks are very experienced and know what they're doing.
THIS IS A NO FRILLS PLACE...but go there to get a thereputic massage, foot reflexology or the wonderful Hawaiin Lumi massage (performed by 2 therapists simultaneously).Prices are very reasonable because you are not having to pay for a posh, hoi polloi resort hotel spa....LOVE THAT !!!Ask for Karen...she is also a highly trained Yoga instructor & licensed massage therapist with over 25 years in the business.
