A very entertaining exhibition, a bit expensive for what you get, but a got number of original props and replicas, very good to go with the kids.
My boyfriend is a huge Star Wars fan, so we knew we were going to pay a visit to the exhibition. I'm not a big fan and just a geeky sort of person, but I was surprise to find myself really enjoying the exhibition. We're both adults and had a lot of fun, but of course children and their families are, I think, the main target audience.Beside all the props, costumes, vehicles and other Star Wars related items, the exhibition sheds a light about the films, their thought process and surprisingly - modern science and psychology. For example, how your genes and upbringing affects who you are, your choices and eventually the way your life turns out.The explanations are in a simple language that both adults and small children can understand and enjoy the information given. While visiting the exhibition you choose a character and build up its personality, life events and morality by choices you make in different stations. You get a digital bracelet that saves all the choices you make and at the end, after going through the exhibition, information and your character's journey, you get to see who your character ended up being. Each station gives scientific and/or psychological explanations about a topic, and then relates it to Star Wars, mainly focusing about how they reflected in Anakin and Luke Skywalker's lives. The information is based on actual researches and is interesting for both people who like the films (as they get to see it implemented on their loved characters) and for people who don't (as the information by itself is still really interesting). The exhibition is built in a way that you go through a sort of route, and because it's interactive, you don't get bored. At the end, once you have your characterI would definitely recommend it to families or geeky people. The exhibition operates in English and French and is very easy to understand. There's a parking lot near by, and a Metro station about 5-7 min. away. Please note that if you're thinking about collecting your booked tickets, you need to do so in advance in a remote location - the tourism office in Saint Denis.I think it may be best just to pay a bit extra to have the tickets sent to your email or home address so you wouldn't have to wait time and money collecting the tickets.
Gros fan de star wars je suis vraiment décu trop cher et peu à voir, très très décu parceque il pouvait faire mieu avec star wars qui est une des meilleurs série !
My sons (12 & 8) and I went to this exhibition on Sunday. Obviously, we booked our passes days ago, arrived on time and .. we could enter in easily and quickly. They were caught by the identity game, passing from one check point to the other up to the last, allowing me to read and listen so that I could be granted with in-depth knowledge regarding the characters behaviors, the feeling Lucas and the team had when they created this saga.If I had to grab drawbacks : the fare is the only one I see.Go and have your identity revealed ;-)
This is the Vatican of Star Wars attractions. It has everything you wanna see and more interesting facts than even an avid fan boy could know. By far the most in depth and well put together exhibition I have been too. I would go day after day if I lived in Paris.
Bref bof!
Wanted to visit before it moves to Lyon in early October.Get off the metro at Carrefour Pleyel and walk around 10 minutes to get to Cite du Cinema. Regretted buying my ticket online which was more expensive as it turned out that it was not too busy. There were just a few dozen of people which was nice though.Soo many props and models to photograph and it was amazing to see everything in real life. The only letdown was the gift shop where I found most of the tshirts were sold out in my size, medium.
