Knowledgeable people and a great atmosphere. A good place to spend some time while in Ste Genevieve.
The Ste Genevieve winery has a very small tasting area, but is conveniently located in Ste Genevieve in the historic district. If you like fruit wines (on the sweet side), this is the place to go. The wine maker uses plenty of fruit and makes exceptional fruit wines. The cranberry tastes like liquid cranberry sauce. The strawberry is like liquid strawberry jam. Award winning.
Good local winery- had a good selection of gift items. Had snacks if you wanted to purchase wine and cheese/crackers and eat on the patio.
We arrived in the afternoon, and the guy behind the counter didn't seem as accommodating with the wine tasting as I would have liked. He should've steered us to the best wines he had, but he let us pick and choose which ones to try -- how should we know which ones are good? More direction needed.
The winery is not on these premises...............this is a house in downtown Ste. Genevieve and is a tasting room only. The person conducting the tasting had limited knowledge.........the wines were average. If we had been staying in Farmington, this would not have been worth the trip.
This winery is in the heart of old Town Ste. Genevieve. The staff was very helpful and we bought a bottle of their Christmas Plum wine. They are the only winery we visited in the area that did not charge for tastings.,
Was disappointed to find this facility in a small old house in the middle of town. The wines were okay.
Had a frozen fruit wine while at the street fair - delicious! This started us on the wine tour where we stopped at 3 more wineries. Lots of fun.
Nice little winery. They have a nice little garden to sit in. They offered some blue grass music on the weekend were were there. Enjoyed a glass of wine before moving onto the wine trail.
Ste. Genevieve Winery is a great place to shop for wine, gifts, items for your own home and bar.
