I went there in January, while it was -32 C outside. I thought I must be mad to try outside baths on this freezing day but what a nice surprise! Very modern, beautiful baths and the sauna is so hot I was able to try the cold bath outside, in the snow, with my flip flops. The massage was one of the best I never had (Jean, you're my new best friend!)The only thing negative is that you have to go outside after your massage to get to the shower. It's quite a shock, in that weather.Over all, this place is in my top five and I highly recommend.
Me and my girlfriend went there after a day of ski at "le massif".We were invited there specially to review the installations (in collaboration with tripadvisor) and being bit tired after a day of ski, we thought that was the perfect situation to go there and have a relaxing experience. I hope my review will help readers to gather usefull information about this place. The first thing readers show know is: if you are in Québec city and you just want a day a the spa it quite a drive to go there (just short of 1 hour). That being said it can easily be combine with other activities in the surrounding area such as a sky day at le massif, a night at "Casino de Charlevoix" or simply a short road trip in the Charlevoix/Malbaie.To access the spa you have to drive off the road on a "bumpy" dirt road, don't be afraid, the road is perfectly safe you just have to drive carefully. At the end of the road there is a pretty descent size car-park and the spa is a very short walk from there. Just be aware at this time of the year (spring) the drainage of the car-park and walkway is not excellent so try to avoid high heels or fancy shoes (but don't be affraid it is not that bad).Ok, that was probably the worst part of it, after the short walk you arrive to the installations, they are very modern and embedded in a natural surrounding, we were welcomed warmly and we were given a quick tour and explanations about the installations. Your relaxation experience come with 2 towels, one plastic bag (could be useful to bring back wet clothes), a reusable water bottle and a key for a locker. You should bring a swimsuit and some kind of flip-flop/ sandals They offer sandals and dressing gown (8$) for extra fees. They also have a little area to stop and grab a bite or a drink. The cloakroom is clean and offer showers, toilets and hairdryers. All buildings are placed around a big central "multiple-stage" spa that offer plenty of space to relax end enjoy the experience without having the impression of being in the personal space of a stranger. Around the pool there is multiple chair to relax outside and hook to hang your stuff and 2 "cooling stations". They also have an outside fire pit but there was no fire in it when we were there. On each side of the pool, two modern and clean building contain a Steam bath,a Finnish (dry) sauna, a relaxation area and the massage room. The relaxing rooms are the only area where silence is strict, otherwise you can talk quietly without fearing to be banish. The chairs in the relaxing room are not the most comfortable I have ever tried but using a towel as a pillow improve the situation. The entire site is equipped with speaker to diffuse music all around. For my taste the music was just a bit to loud in the relaxing area, but I'm just being extremely critic here nothing to make me wanna leave or never come back.Price wise, I think they a offer a pretty good price range comparable with other similar installation and they have also special price during the week and on late arrival (pass 17h)Globally the experience was very good, the employees were helpful but discrete, the baths were clean and well maintain all in a very relaxing environment. The perfect way for us the end a ski day.If you are in the area and you want a peaceful and relaxing break I would recommend to give it a try.Hope this description of my experience can help you !Best regards!
Magnifique emplacement et les installations sont super propres et bien entretenues.Y a de la place, c'est vaste et le décor enchanteur. Musique zen.En plus, y a de belles promotions.
My wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary, and we loved it. Awesome steam bath, awesome wood stove sauna, and great hot tub outside. Music and ambiance was also very good ! Very clean place, service and courtesy was also nice. There is only few little things annoying us a bit. We have to travel long path outside between activities when it's cold and windy. You also have to get long way behind the buildings to reach another door leading to the first spot. Rests areas were always full, so it needs to be bigger. Also, we think this spa is a bit over priced if we compare with others, but still worth the visit, even it's far away from everything, not next door. It's still a new place, outside laying out needs some improvements but I think they plan to do that soon.We have tried many and many differents spas in the world, we liked our experience here ! Thumbs up !
Had an amazing experience in this spa! I am addicted to saunas and spas and this one is one of the good ones in the group of bain nordique. Loved the atmosphere, loved the design, saunas are well made. The whole experience is very relaxing and regenerating. Will be definitely back for more quality time for myself.
A recommander
A surprise find while skiing in the area - definitely recommend. Beautiful setting, perfectly designed facilities. Worth the money for sure, especially after a hard day of skiing. We were there in the afternoon and basically had the place to ourselves. Don't skip doing the plunge in the cold pool!
While snowboarding at Mont sainte Anne we were given a 2 for 1 coupon for station blu. I am so glad we used it! The spa was clean, not too busy and super relaxing. There is a spa close to my home on Collingwood Ontario but it is twice the price for a much more crowded environment. If I lived in the area I would go to station blu on a regular basis. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well!
Skiing is a nordic sport and so is unwinding by first sweating through your feet in a dry sauna, plunging into an icy cold bath, soaking in a spring fed hot pool, facing the cold bath again, then finally enjoying the unique experience of a steam room. The Nords know skiing and it turns out they also know the proper way to do apres-ski.My usual way to kick back after skiing is to down a couple of cold ones at the hill then collapse face down on the queen bed back at the hotel room. I was skeptical when my wife talked me into the new Station Blu spa located about 15 minutes from either Mt St Anne or Le Massif (where we skied). From the moment we turned off Highway 138 (look for the distinctive blue sign on the south side of the highway), I was struck by how special a place this is. The winding driveway took us through a snowy pine forest for a few minutes until we reached a spacious parking lot. There were spots for our car -- it would have been wrong to have fought for a parking space at such a tranquil spot! After a three-minute stroll, we entered the main building and met the gracious spa staff who took the time to explain how best to maximize our relaxation at the spa. At the time of our visit, the friendly and engaging manager, Francis Bissonnette, was available to answer all of our questions and to point us in the right direction. If you have the pleasure of meeting him, be sure to ask him about the photos of the Stanley Cup on the shelf behind the counter -- he's rightly proud of his local friends and what they've achieved at Station Blu!My introduction gives you a brief glimpse of the whole experience of Station Blu. You'll have to visit yourself to experience the beauty of the property and the stunning architecture -- and to have the experience of relaxation in such a stunning setting. We visited mid-week in March and paid a very reasonable rate for two. Upon arrival, you will choose your very own funky water bottle that can be refilled at various spots around the spa. We would have paid a bit more if we knew the sandals and robes were included in the price -- they weren't -- and then I would have definitely rated this spa a "perfect five".Station Blu taught me new respect for the Nordic approach to apres-ski -- and a new respect for myself!
This is one of the newest Spas in the Quebec City area which is set back off the road in the bush. A large facility with staff who are relaxed and convinced us to do the full-body dunk in the cold pool, which is quite an surprising sensation! The massage therapists actually give you a real massage - not just some pampering.
