I enjoyed to get lost in the barrio going back to my hotel, what a lovely way of discoverung new corners of this ancient quarter
Barrio Santa Cruz is a quaint and interesting district that I would love to return to sometime. The narrow cobbled streets and the authentic buildings, add an air of mystery to the area. Only down side to it is the amount of souvenir shops around every corner. Tried t o ignor that aspect of it and concentrate on the architecture instead. Certainly very tourist oriented.
Most maps we had weren't detailed enough to list all the streets and alleys. Don't try to rush to a restaurant or attraction because it may take some time to find it. The Barrio Santa Cruz is full of nice hotels, wide variety of places to eat, interesting shops, churches and stores. You could spend a lot of time here without getting to see the rest of Seville.
I think we made the right decision to do a tour of Santa Cruz. It is possible to just wander around these intimate streets, but by taking the tour we got some of the history and stories behind street names etc as well. We did venture back in the evening on our own and had a delightful meal at a restaurant we had passed on our tour. It was very quiet and peaceful, but the area is really charming and quite different to the rest of Seville. The tour took about 90 minutes, and we felt we had a good feel for the area.
Get lost in the hood and try few beer here and there, everyone seems friendly and cost is not expensive at all.
I really enjoyed the central location of this hood, being super close to the Seville Cathedral & Alcazar. We enjoyed great food from several different places
Nice place to visit a the end of the day, fofr relaxing, typical bars and restaurants serving ceap food with drinks. Wlaking areas very active at night.
A beautiful area, a maze of small streets, some very old and extremelly well preserved, and others combining modern elements. Many tourist atractions around, as well as good restaurants.
The Barrio Santa Cruz has very narrow streets and when you turn a corner you may find something that surprises you, such as a small church or a wonderful plaza. Everyone should experience these surprises because it adds the charm of seeing something wonderful in Seville.
