I love this festival....world class musicians, the arts pavilion, great food & spirits....all in the park.....makes this the best time ever!
We attended a Luke Bryan concert here and had an absolutely awesome time. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so arrive early. We spent a bit more and got seats inside, but the lawn can be okay too. Out seats were up high, so we had a great view of the stage. Consider bringing ear plugs since it can be quite loud. Wonderful venue for a high energy concert.
We try to get there at least a few times a year. (Used to go to all the rock concerts as a kid!) The music, ballet and concerts are just great in this outdoor setting. Get there early if you have lawn seats for a major event or you will end up on top of the hill with nothing to see! Bug spray is a must and a blanket with your chair can be used for warmth or to keep the bugs away. Loved James Taylor this summer.
Went there Phish's summer tour 3 years in a row. The venue has good parking lot.I'm always comfortable there. Anyway you will be nearby you should go there.I bet you like it so Excited!!
Great sound system, polite people, secure. Sometimes security gets ridiculous, on types photos. People should never use flash, but there should be a way to clear photos for private use not professional sale. If a performer doesn't want it U-tubed...or Facebooked they loose. Personal or educational use should be allowed no matter what. Live Nation has gotten ridiculously loud sound for their Country Western Performers .with or without professional ear plugs...and they are good I think, but when you can only understand one word in a complete phrase or out of 3 sentences...it is too ***loud. It is irresponsible to everyone. This group is going to become hard of hearing very early. We deal fine with loud and go to a lot of concerts, but 2014 Country was ridiculous, with or without the professional ear plugs.
Love seeing a concert on the lawn at SPAC. There's nothing quite like a seat on the lawn under the night sky and stars.
Throughout the years, I have visited for a number of concerts. Just a great place for a concert. There is food and drinks available. The seats are covered so the rain shouldn't be a factor - unless you are on the lawn. But that's how it is with an outdoor facility! There are really no bad seats. The sound is fantastic. The center is smack dab in the center of a park so the grounds are lovely. If you get a chance visit the park during the day to stroll, speed walk, bike, exercise. Now remember, there is only one way in and one way out, so the traffic moves slow. That's the way it is - so don't stress it. Don't let something like that ruin a fantastic show you just saw!
I have not only been to SPAC for concerts but I have also been there for high school graduations! Great place for both venues! There isn't a bad seat in the place for concerts except lawn seats in the rain. SPAC is especially good for graduations because you can actually see the graduate receive their diploma!!! Arrive early and get a seat down in front! One word of advice....it is a long walk from the parking lot to the theater so you may want to bring an elderly family member in with a wheel chair. The park does offer rides in golf carts, but they aren't alway available.
Where else can you sit on he grass and have a picnic while enjoying great performances from the Symphony, to the Ballet, to James Taylor, to Jazzfest, to Phish ?!? There is an indoor auditorium too if you want to sit inside. But I love to sit under the stars and enjoy the show, which is also broadcast on large screens so that you can see the performers up close. Delightful! And everyone around you feels the same way! (OK, I haven't really BEEN to the PHISH concerts so I can't really speak for that experience but.....)
First visit, bought tickets and was inside SPAC, great seats no matter where your seats are located. Great acoustics. Food and beverages are outrageously priced but can bring in sealed water and food or tailgate before concert. Parking well organized and plenty of it. Will def go back for a concert again.
