The Salisbury Zoo is a beautiful small zoo packed with interesting animals from around the world! The zoo is clean with wonderful exhibits and informative signs. A great way to spend an afternoon with family and friends!
Definitely not a big city zoo but a frat place to wonder and relax. Several play areas for young kids and a great walking path. Picnic tables also available.
A well regarded zoo.Small enough to see without tiring children, the physically disabled or seniors and large enough to show a lot of north American animals. The educational opportunities are abundant and Ben's Red Swing playground adds an extra treat.
after going to the only other zoo on the eastern shore i have to say this one is SUPERIOR after walking through the zoo your small child can play at a beautiful playground and then walk through a park and picnic
We go to walk around zoo often in warmer weather. We live about 1 hour away and tend to schedule all appointments on same day which sometimes leaves us some time to wait between appointments. I enjoy walking around the zoo. Beautiful wooded area with nice displays. No it doesn't have my favorite big cats but the animals are fun to watch. At the one entrance is Ben's Red Swings a large children's playground with lots for the kids to do. It is a little tricky finding it if you aren't familiar with Salisbury but its worth the effort.
Really enjoyed visiting this zoo, although it was hard to find. You can give a donation at the entrance. Spent a couple hours here.
While certainly not the same as a large city zoo, it's fun and educational, especially for younger children. Has facilities for picnics and surrounding area offers paddle boats and structured play areas. Would recommend for a visit, especially since the animals most featured are those from the area.
Nestled in the Salisbury Maryland city park, this zoo specializes in animals living in the western hemisphere. The zoo is an accredited institution. It is very neat and clean. The educational materials are all exceptional. Most important the animals are well cared for. The zoo is an important center for the families living in this regional community. After visiting the zoo visitors should visit the Ward Museum located at the other end of the park. It specializes in carved birds, about 3000 of them. The museum is world class and a nice compliment to the zoo. A half hour from Ocean City Maryland the visit to zoo and museum will make for a great day.
Love this little zoo! We are blessed to have this local zoo! Nice for a quick walk it a longer stay to check out all the animals.
Great little park zoo that is free, has a great many animals for a small zoo but very nice. One entrance has a large play area for children that may keep from ever seeing the zoo itself as they will not want to leave. Lots of picnic tables and grills for public use and idea in summer and winter is a great walk thru too. Kids ill love this place and families too. May local college students frequent this place for jogging and frisbee, or to walk a dog in the dog park just across the street on the East end of the zoo.
