Aquopolis was really good fun... Once you find it that is! To assist... It's about 5 mins drive from Madrid airport - so if you're still on the 282 bus 25 mins later.... You've missed it! No bus driver will help you get there. Even using GPS on an iphone 5 only got us to a random bus stop in the middle of nowhere - foud a hotel and managed to get a taxi from there! It really is quite tricky to find so I'd recommend that you take a taxi from the airport or central Madrid if you can afford it. There is quite some discount if you buy your ticket in advance (approx £50 vs £72 on the door for family of two adults and two children). There really is nowhere private to change so be prepared for this. Food and drink is ridiculously expensive and there isnt much choice so I recommend you bring some of your own. We went in the last week of August - and contrary to reviews earlier in the season - it was EMPTY!!! EMPTY!!!! EMPTY!!!! i queried if it was open!!! No queues whatsoever! Fabulous! We went on all the rides on a number of occasions! Loved it. We'd still have been there bit the torrential thunderstorm ended the day for the park. Generally - i must say that the pools were a bit chipped and flaky in places - but that was my only complaint. Lots of BRILLIANT RIDES - and the height restrictions meant that my tall six year old could go on everything! (Brave boy!). The slides are absolutely excellent! Fast, clean, safe and well run. Also - notably - the whole facility is very clean. There is lots of grass to sunbathe on and the water is very clean. Lots of lifeguards in attendance and they really enforced the rules. We really enjoyed our day out and we would go again of we came back to Madrid (albeit, I might buymy ticket in advance next time). Really good - albeit pricey.
Getting there by public transportation is quite a challenge... We took train to San Fernando station where we found out we lost the bus to the park, as it mentioned the park is just 1.1 KM from the train station we decided to walk there which was a BIG MISTAKE, the road id risky for pedestrians by all means ! Really was scary to cross the roads in order to get there... As we arrived, the park facilities were so far comparing to the You Tube channel of the park, it is just a local small water park, all clean, well arranged and nice but for sure it is not the same as seen at the You Tube channel... The waves pool operates waves only once in 2 hours.. kind of disappointment for the kids...Above all we spent there nice 4 hours however cannot recommend that site for foreign tourists
