Pleasant place with gardens and café also over looks the Grand Harbour, 3 Cities and Saluting Batteries. Good place to take pictures.
We visited to see the saluting gun fired at 4pm. The park is above the saluting battery and gives some great views of the saluting cannons and views over the harbour. The park itself was great if you want to take the weight off your feet and have brought something to eat. Their is a small outdoor cafe selling the usual food and drink but we found the members of staff a little rude. The gardens seem to be home to some cats who, if you decide to feed them, will be your friends for life but don't anoy you but seem to wait patiently for any spare food you have on offer
We spent a lovely afternoon in the sun in the gardens. Plenty of seating in a beautiful setting. They even have a canon salute each afternoon, definitely worth a visit
视野相当好,整个 grand harbor尽收眼底啊。可以遥望对岸的古堡,由于是晴天,海面很蓝,可以看到远处的帆船。去的时候竟还赶上了中午12点,放礼炮,真是被吓到了呢。
This is a lovely place to sit and relax but there is a pleasant café and public toilet but it also overlooks the grand harbour which must be one of the world's most amazing sights. At any time of day you can see people standing against the wall gazing in awe of the fantastic view but particularly around twelve o clock to see below the ceremony of the firing of the noonday gun which is also accompanied by the playing of wartime songs and patriotic music.
Upper Barrakka Gardens in Vellette, nice area to visit and have a walk round the gardens. The cannon is fired at midday every day, which is not something you see every day. Nice little cafe to get a drink at before you get back to the Main Street for more shopping
Beautiful relaxing place.... The view from up there was amazing as you can literally see almost all of Malta!Even better if you visit at sunset!
The views from here are marvellous. You can sit for hours in the sun watching the boats and ships in the harbour. There is a lift which will take you down to the harbourside and Lower Barrakka Gardens. The guns go off at 12 pm and it is done with pomp and ceremony. Quite loud so cover your ears! This is a must.
Quiet oasis in a busy city. Stunning views over the bay. Small cafe for refreshments and entry into old fortifications. Worth the detour.
Nice place for a quick stroll before entering this stunning city. The cafe at the corner is a mess, such a shame...
