We kept following the signs off of the 101 highway to this winery, and it wound up being about the farthest away. You travel through several agricultural areas; many not vineyards, to get there. The wine is good; but not worth the 1/2 hour to get there when there are many other good wineries much closer.
I love Cambria wines. I live in wine country, so I am spoiled when it comes to amazing wines. Staff is great, the tasting room is beautiful. Make the trip!
We stopped here on a whim on a Friday afternoon and had a wonderful time. The woman pouring our tastes was very friendly and knowledgable, and she made us feel very comfortable. We enjoyed almost everything we tasted, and left with two bottles--a Chardonnay and a Pinot. I would love to come back with my mom--I think she'd enjoy it, too.
The setting at Cambria's Winery and Tasting Room is surrounded by vineyards and has some wonderful foothill views. There is also a spacious south facing deck area with lots of tables where you could consider extending your tasting room experience by enjoying one of their wines on the sunny deck. The Bien Nacido plateau, origin of their Estate grown Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, is recognized even in France and Italy as one of the premier sites for these varietals in the world ! Enjoy !
The wine is always fabulous! A great vintner in Santa Rosa. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely wine club!
Stopped by here on a recent visit to Santa Maria. We had a great time trying all their wines. Each wine was explained in detail, and the presenter was extremely knowledgeable of all their products. My friends signed up for the wine club!
Friendly & knowledgable staff, wine club with exclusive smaller lots, ALL estate grapes. Location is short jaunt off 101 @ Beteravia to start your tour through Santa Maria. We joined in August & this is our 2nd visit - we really like the Bench Break 2011 chardonnay about $25 for members. Good pintos too, this whole area is good for both varietals.
This was our last stop on our first day on the Foxen wine trail. Another winery suggested we stop here if we enjoyed a good Syrah. She was right. The tasting room was small bur the Syrah was very good and the price was fair. We purchased a couple of bottles. We were not ready to commit to a case and found that they were the only winery we visited that had the wine skin on display. We were able to pack our wine in our luggage to take home to enjoy. We gave a bottle to our neighbor and they also enjoyed it.
Cambria has always been my favorite Chardonnay so it goes without saying when I got the chance to be in the area it was first on my list. I was not disappointed! We learned so much about the wine making, the history of the area and the region of wine growing. They recommended other vineyards to visit and where to go for lunch. The whole day was amazing and I would recommend for all wine lovers to put it on their bucket list. Sonoma Valley was lay back and everyone was so friendly.
We had a very pleasant tasting at Cambria Winery. The wines on the tasting list were quite good and the staff highlighted some comparisons that could be made across the wines. A question on our part led to an off-list wine being served. The servers were very friendly and engaged. All in all, we had a great time and would return if we were in the area again.
