Sierra at Tahoe offers $35 Learn-to-ride/ski package that includes an hour of lesson and rental for first time riders/skiers. although they don't validate so you may technically just do this deal again and again until you learn on your own or you may enroll to their advance courses.I'm a beginner so i wasn't able to try other lift and slopes but beginner and bunny slopes works just fine for me.
The weather was great however I doubt there will be skiing in February. The people are friendly and the shopping is good.
Short and sweet; rude staff & rude snow boarders. The snow boarders think they own the place and seem to get off on "buzzing" you. We tried this as it was half the price of Kirkwood and a third of heavenly and the old adage of "you get what you pay for" holds true. We'll ski Kirkwood tomorrow and try to put the disaster that Sierra at Tahoe was behind us.
Decided to ski Christmas day at Sierra Ski Ranch now known as Sierra at Tahoe. All of us had a wonderful day going down most open runs given the shortage of fresh snow. Going to the hill first thing in the morning gave us some great runs down before the families arrived with young kids. Snowboarders galore and were very respectful to the downhill skiiers so no problem there. Fast and friendly service in the packed bars and decent food in the restaurant. Discount lift tickets can be bought in SLT equipment rental places to save some money. Definitely warrants a return later in the season! LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOOOOOW!
I love this place! The staff is friendly, they have the best ski school, great runs, and best burger at 360 Grill!. I learned to ride here. My husband and I used to come here while dating, and now we come here with our Son. Great place to ride solo, couple or family. They also recently did great upgrades. Happy to be spending my money here, rather than other mountains that have been bought out by corporations out of state.
This was a great place to go to with young kids. All we did was tubing but it was great fun. Not crazy crowded and pretty reasonably priced. They have a cafe which is adequate but pricey for what they serve. All the people who work here are helpful and attentive.
Sierra at Tahoe has lots of slopes to choose from, all of different levels and varieties. We spent the day skiing down several of those slopes ad had lots of fun. The staff is not as friendly as other places, but was still helpful and attentive. The Ski School prices were quite extravagant and we decided not to pay the $200 and ski down some slopes instead. All in all, it was a fun day, and Sierra is a great resort with great slopes.
Had a blast loved it! Ready to go again next month and hit the slopes. Not crowded either clean restrooms
I have been here twice, enjoyed the runs though tried only the easiest ones. Good vegetarian food options in their concessions, though lines are long during the meal times.
I have been to many Ski Resorts in Northern California and I would recommend Sierra for beginner level ski or snowboarders. $45 deal for all included lesson package is the best of the best deal in whole South Lake Tahoe region. Only regret is the Snow Conditions due to drought since last couple of years. Try to visit just after snowfall days and you will be amazed.
